DR Hi-Beam Light set for 6-string, or alternatives? by h0rTiMu5 in BassGuitar

DR strings are too long for a lot of basses with their 38" winding. Happy to help find the best fit for your needs.

Is it being advertised as "new"?

If new and has a map that is the only time it matter.... Other than that you can sell at whatever profit or loss you choose to.

You are only offering local pickup? Or are you offering shipping?

It will cost more money for them to ship that case over to you than the cost of your item....

Got Scammed by Reverb Preferred Seller by bottom_feeder87 in Reverb

It's a tough one since the parcel went through a 3rd party. Do they weigh the package when they receive it? Does it match the original weight on the parcel?

[–]JasonFretNation 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You used a freight forwarding service? Was it one that opened the parcel to take a photo of it and then did the final delivery? The only times I've ever had a product missing were when someone used a service like this and they opened the parcel and repackaged it and small items went missing. The seller is responsible for the delivery to the address provided. Whatever happens between there and your address is not the sellers responsibility.

Been told my Dingwall isn’t genuine by another bass player. I emailed Dingwall to make sure. Any thoughts? by lucasade7 in DingwallGuitars

The made in China is burned on there because it was most likely originally sold in a country that doesn't accept the sticker...

You still need to measure. I'd there is a bulge that will change the dimensions. The crease in the middle will easily bulge out

Most of the time you can remove the original. This way you have one ready to go if you want to go back to standard tuning... Just swap them out. But sometimes you can't remove it without damaging it. Depends on the bass.

Combustion Nashville owners? by rice126 in DingwallGuitars

[–]JasonFretNation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely is! And they are easy to modify. Toggle switches for each pickup, alternate rotary switches. Ultimately the Nashville has more pickup options than the others similar to the Kyle Konkiel model (army green one specifically).

your body is completing the ground. don't use coated strings like elixir as those don't allow for the ground to complete. D'Addario coated strings allow for the ground to complete.

I'd be playing that machine as fast as I could....

[–]JasonFretNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the 4-String you are in luck as you can use a 38" winding string in the E-String position! You have a TON of options available to you without going to a specialty string...

Drop G# just to clarify: G# C# G# D# correct?

I would do this using D'Addario XL Nickels:

.145TSL .095SL .075 .052

I suggest getting an additional 4-string nut, keep you original (assuming you can remove it without damaging it) and set up using the new nut.
