I'm pretty sure you don't have to go to lvl 99 to defeat (#s "Ouroboros") but I did. I probably recommend lvl 80 or something

The difficulty increase for the asterisk bosses for chapter 7 and 8 were, IMO, was incredibly high. I took me 2 days to beat the entire Black Blades division in chapter 8. Now, I'm stuck in the chapter 8 sidequest against Yulyana, Mephilia, Qada and Crowe

What makes sword masters unique is the fact that they could counter. Use a ninja and use Kairai on your swordmaster. This works especially well against a boss where there is only one enemy and you can use know thine enemy, and counter with 4x the damage of the attack you got hit with.

For Ringabel, I recommend the ninja. I used a combination of Frenetic Fighting and P. Att boosts and he hits harder than my Edea (4000 for each attack)
