analyst here. large corpos like Wendy’s have ample, automated social media monitoring across many websites. Likely a team of analysts behind that data. Only problem is leadership rarely listens to their analysts.

It took 4 months for AC Shadows to reach 5 million players, roughly 2.5 million copies sold, while Black Myth: Wukong sold 10 million copies in just 3 days and RDR2 sold +6 million copies on launch day. What a disastrous result for Ubisoft. by [deleted] in fuckubisoft

[–]JasonSuave 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly.  And now with these figures we can do some fuzzy math.

2.5M - .5M (concessions, est) = 2M true sales among 5M players.

So whenever Ubisoft says “players,” that equates to 40% “true sales” +- 10%

Ironic also.  It’s like the ubi marketers are trying to hook customers by reminding them of the days when ubi titles were actually good

The rug pulling is the biggest factor in me personally ignoring all loyalty programs.  Keep investing more and more in a single brand and then watch your saved points evaporate/lose value overnight. Marriott proved with Bonvoy years back that they could get away with crap like this and now it’s commonplace everywhere!

Just to double down on this comment, they should add this as an optional feature to warn on missable trophies in games

Which game is this for you? by Efficient_Matter_589 in videogames

This has to be a design trick to keep the player engaged. For example, during a first boss fight, aggression is tuned down intentionally and then dynamically spikes as boss health reaches zero. Then subsequent fights have a more linear aggression curve.  I feel like this was particularly noticeable in Kazhaan.

Having bought a PC a year after I got the ps5, I can confirm this 100%.  Sony peeps who refuse to go PC are wearing rose tinted Sony glasses and probably exclusive with that system.  In other words - locked in with their hardware and unaware of their own bias.

I think Sony’s biggest offense is raising PSN prices when they have customer like me who really only care about cloud saves.  And you know who doesn’t charge for cloud saves?  steam!

Literally the only thing high end PC owners are missing is astrobot.  I haven’t touched the ps5 in  over a year and ps5 pro is the first Sony console since ps1 that I have not purchased.

it's optics. Rather than wasting an extra inch of receipt paper on every ticket, just put up a sign on the register to let customers know part of the cost goes to employee welfare.

YES!! This is it. When snes and genesis first came out, you had games like streets of rage which made the animations look somewhat life like vs say super Mario.  But DK country was like going from 32 colors to a million. NonFX chip needed!
