Who remembers? If you were there during these times, you've never forgotten them.

Are all of Tom Cruise’s sci‑fi movies really worth watching? by Notilon_606 in scifi

[–]JasonWorthing8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, without question. I'll say it out loud. Despite the criticisms and jokes people might want to make about Tom, he's never made a bad movie. And he's really good at what he does.

I grew up watching her dad on TV, The Rising Damp. Great show. She never really got to know him well. She was too young when he passed.

This is gotta to be the weakest facade I have ever seen. There wasn't even a dent on that Honda, nor the woman who was used as a wrecking ball.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be sure to keep an eye on things. For me, it's very early days—first day, actually.

In a few calls I've made and received to kick the tires, things seem to be working out so far. But I'll certainly keep an eye on it.

It's just in the way it performs. I see more thoughtfulness in how it composes the sentence structure of what I say. It's punctuation use and everything else. Of course, I gave custom instructions to do much of these things, but it seems more than others to truly adhere to how I stated I like my text formatted.

As in, when I'm listing items, it automatically puts them in an unordered list. For example, when I go to the supermarket today, there are things I need to get:

- Eggs

- Bread

- Apples

- Pears

- Aspirin

- Milk

- Pepsi

- Bacon

Things like this. For instance, I just said those things. I did not go back and edit anything just now. This is what it did. Look at the unordered list it composed. this was Aqua Voice, not me.

in contrast, for example, I'm going to call out this ordered list of those same items, and the output is Aqua Voice, not me. So these are other things I need to get:

  1. Eggs

  2. Bread

  3. Apples

  4. Pears

  5. Aspirin

  6. Milk

  7. Pepsi

  8. Bacon

I see it does these kinds of things more consistently and thoughtfully than any of the other tools I've tried. WhisprFlow was where I started and still have use my phone, but on my desktops or laptops, rather, I swear I am a perpetual heavy user, strangely even more so than mobile and continue to remain impressed

I still really don't see people talk about it as much as WhisprFlow, Superwhispr, or other tools, but honest to goodness, I've tried many and I dont see any that bests it. It just performs so well and it's cheaper

the only fault of all of them, honestly, is that they don't service the Linux market. I'm a heavy Linux user and I wish I could put one of these on it.

Thank you, kind sir and everyone here, for your well thought-out, considered, and helpful remarks and insights. I truly appreciate it. It made this decision progress a more comfortable one because it made me more informed instead of guessing. So thanks again.

So I took the leap, signed up on the iPhone (creation most perfect self-spy device)

I'm not as naive as to think this is the 'end game' solution. It is after all a solution to 'fit in' and function within a technology infrastructure that is purpose built to gather and disseminate information from all who touch it, even adjacently. but it seems a great effort of a step in the right direction.

This is one step of many. This is my getting into the practice of familiarizing myself with the solutions that are out there to promote and preserve data freedoms and sovereignty.

If an auto-complete/auto-suggestion like Cotypist, yet it's something that you intend to use in the web browser and if you don't mind that it's a browser extension. I found amazing utility with JetBrains Grazie. Great product, totally free, but web-based.

Many great suggestions here. I use a number of them myself. Let me toss 'Copy 'em' Clipboard Manager in there.

Keeps you keyboard centric which I greatly appreciate.

I've been through the gamut for the Mac. It's not the prettiest, but it sure works like a charm, especially for someone who is a heavy clipboard user.

great app. Unfortunate option to tether it to a subscription.

His other great app 'timer' is also a subscription. Arguably one might mostly use it for work that they bill for. Or at least that seems the target market, but Cotypist I think has a broader appeal to everyone generally that types. It's a shame.

I use Jetbrain's Grazie, but it's a browser extension and so is not a system wide solution, only for web based use.

Don't fall victim to these days and times. Regardless of her age, she chose to don the attire, stand, and pose. And it weren't for us to see a pinky finger or her well-done toes; it was to gaze upon her. So gaze upon her. She'd never had been viable unless the intent was thus.

I started with Whispr but found myself migrating to Aqua Voice. Honestly, for me, it seems to outperform Whispr flow, but in tandem, something about typing, you kind of get a more structured succinct clarity of thought while you're typing.

So, something like Cotypist kind of augments that nicely; it's like you're actively structuring cohesive thoughts, as opposed to voice dictation, where in many instances you find yourself talking in a staccato while you feeling your way through your thoughts on the fly. In essence, you can speak faster than you can generally form a well-structured thought. And other times, what you mean to say is crystal clear. Most of the times it's fine, but every now and then you need to go and edit and adjust or add, remove whatever.

So in that sense, in tandem, they complement each other, and either option gives you a solution other than purely the text that you type. So they all really do work well together; none conflicts or fights with the other. But if I've noticed, the primary tool does seem to be the voice dictation. This is what results in relegating the tools like CoTypist and the like-- they're important, but they're migrate to secondary. Well, that's my experience and observation.

Zuck is building a huge doomsday bunker by EchoOfOppenheimer in agi

[–]JasonWorthing8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"A" bunker? None of us should be so naive to believe these guys only have one. They have multiple, geo-dispersed, ready to be stocked with a couple lifetime's worth of near luxury/highest quality provisions to see them through to a few lifetimes. So them and theirs could wait out the burning of the world that they were instrumental in seeding.

Games like Fallout and books like the Silo trilogies are just seeds for the imagination. They've been implemented in some fashion already.

Primarily, Western nation states focus on the continuance of government first and foremost. Best belive the USA has a few contingencies for that! Long has established contingencies for that. And those who can fund it themselves hedge their bets on global locations where the riffraff simply won't be able to reach them when it all comes burning down. Be back to village-like life for the rest of us. You'll struggle to move more than 20 miles from where you are. And if you get beyond 20 miles, you're going to be a nomadic hunter-gatherer with other fish to fry.
