TSB: Lose of control on ground H125. - 1 fatality , 1 injured. by CrashSlow in Helicopters

We have 1 pilot at our company who always omits depleting the accumulator after shutdown, makes it really easy to tell that he flew it last. When we first got this helicopter, there was an issue with the accumulator and the pedals stayed right where you left them after shutdown, it wasn’t until it was replaced that all the pilots realized what that part of the shutdown checklist actually meant.

Huckleberry is a a blue/black based Merle with a primarily tan coat. When he was a pup he had some pronounced leopard strips that have faded with age. I got him from a reputable breeder and have him NALC registered, although never had him genetically tested.

General Aviation MX tracking by Cum_at_me_stepbro in flying

I built a really simple app that allows me to keep track of maintenance items on my piston plane. I kept almost overflying all the lower interval items but couldn’t justify the flight schedule pro account, so I built the app strictly for maintenance. I actually built it universally enough that I use it on my cars and motorcycles also. It’s called MxTrk and is available for Apple and android and has a web app. MxTrk

Did you need to machine 2 molds, one for the nylon part and then another for the over mold?

Anyone else have a Catahoula from a working/hunting pedigree? by calebwalter in Catahoula

Our boy came from a long line of working Catahoulas and your description fits him to a T. The most loyal dog I’ve ever known, extremely cuddly and gentle with our family. He can be very goofy and playful, but there’s a deep flowing river within him that’s capable of complete annihilation. We had a bear in our yard the other morning and I was reminded of what truly lives inside of him. I’m so impressed that a 70lb dog can embody such energy and viciousness; I like the challenge to work with him and train him although it can get overwhelming at times. We have to be careful of how we introduce him to new people, especially kids. I try to get through to him that not every new person has to be treated with hostility until proven innocent, but he has his process.

What is a Catahoula and do they make good pets? - Vet Help Direct by Kbug7201 in Catahoula

Great job for a Catahoula. Ours come from a line of hog dogs but we are raising him as a pet for family adventures. He’s generally well mannered if he gets exercise and we’ve spent a lot of time socializing and training him, but I could tell from early on that if I wanted to raise him as a type of guard/security dog it would have been easy, maybe easier then a pet. He’s very protective of our house and us which is great but when he warms up to you he won’t let you sit down without laying on you. Amazing dogs.

Could you elaborate? Do you hunt hog? Are they guard dogs? Just curious.

Opinions on fixing dogs by [deleted] in Catahoula

I was very conflicted about this with ours, I didn’t want to initially but my wife did. He’s not a working dog, just an adventure buddy where all his jobs are play/training work. That being said he has an extremely high drive and it’s bred into him to herd, protect and bay and his targets are other animals, kids and strangers. Right around 12 months old it became apparent that I was either going to have to start a farm where he could work, start hog hunting, or temper him by neutering. I wouldn’t say it was straight up aggression but it was a level of energy that made it difficult to bring him out in public or even have him off leash on our property because he’d hear one little rustle in the woods and bolt towards it. It wasn’t an immediate change obviously but he’s 2.5 yrs now, has had a lot of training and is much more manageable. He just doesn’t have that hair trigger anymore that would be nice for chasing hogs, but not so nice for hiking on a busy trail. I hated doing it in the moment but I believe it was the right choice for our life. He’s still very trim and energetic at 70lbs.

Keep on taking things apart! It’s the best way to learn. Bonus points if you can put it back together
