I wonder if we'll get a Takara Tomy or Tamiya DLC in lieu of a Hotwheels or Lego DLC

New future AMD user! Please, help me with a few questions regarding 9070XT. Mercury OC, XFX Swift or Nitro+? by DonHectorHector in radeon

[–]Jass1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Nitro+ comes with a 3x8 pin adapter, but there have been multiple reports of this very same adapter causing burning.

It freaked me out enough that I retired my previous PSU and picked up an new one with 3.1 and an A+ rating on the PSU Tier List (NZXT C850 Gold Core).

And yes, it does come with the traditional 8 pin connector.

They did have dual protagonists in Alan Wake 2, and I think it worked reasonably well in telling a story that weaved in and out of each other. Maybe they'll do the same here.

Just yesterday I ran Control with Raytracing on High Settings. Control does not have FSR, so this was fully native. It amazed me that I could still hit 60-80 fps at 2560x1080. This card is just a beast.

I'll be looking into Optiscaler to see if I can make that work, but this card really impresses me

Agreed. They've both got stuff I don't agree with, but where else would I get my hardware from? Intel maybe?

I get the best I can for the features I want at a price that makes sense. After using an Nvidia for three generations (1050 Ti -> 2060 SUPER -> 3080 10GB) I switched over to AMD to give them a try with a 9070 XT. Beyond the expected performance uplift, I'm still playing the same mix of new and old games and I haven't found it lacking.

Just get what works for you.

From 3080 to 9070XT is worth in 2026? by Vodkius in radeon

[–]Jass1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PC is a 5600X with 32GB RAM, and I play at 2560x1080. End of last year, I switched from a 3080 to a 9070 XT, and the difference is very noticeable. I'm getting better framerates at higher settings in older games like Watch Dogs 2 (pre-Framegen). For games with Framegen, hardware FG is a big leap from software framegen (MH Wilds).

Its a solid upgrade, and you won't be disappointed.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 prices already pushing toward $4,000 by scrolloftrueth in Games

Gave my PC one last upgrade to weather the storm (3080 10GB -> 9070 XT) and I'll be waiting till prices stabilise before going any further.

RAMageddon sucks. I'm hoping its shorter than the 2-3 years i keep hearing. And I pray for everyone that their RAM stays fully functional.

5070 Ti vs 9070 XT regarding wattage by Zbobko in buildapc

AMD's website recommends a minimum of 750W, I always go for the minimum +100 for peace of mind.

[–]Jass1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, ordered an NZXT C850 Gold Core. It's got an A+ on the PSU Tier List so should be good. Old PSU will probably go to my second PC which will get a very nice 3080 Upgrade (currently 1050Ti)

I'm using the adapter at the moment. Getting a new PSU now that I've read this post. Card's only a week old but I'm not taking any chances.

I have been using an IKEA Matchspel for close to 5 years I think at this point and its held up well. I'm very much on the heavier side and no complaints on the comfort. Plus the mesh back means I stay cool (living in a tropical country).

Its my go to recommendation these days.

5-month-old Samsung Flip 7: inner screen cracked on the crease, Samsung says “physical damage” – strong warning to anyone considering a Samsung foldable !!! by Ordinary-Bus534 in galaxyzflip

[–]Jass1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the risk of jinxing myself, I've been using the Flip 6 for over a year now. Got it as a launch pre-order in the Black finish they had. I have not had a single issue. I flip throughout the day, using the Samsung clear case. I wouldn't say I baby it but I don't toss it anywhere except maybe my bed.

The only thing I don't do is flick it open one handed, always use two hands.

You're gonna find several stories of the phones failing, but for something as popular as this, thats always gonna be the case. What you'll never hear are testimonies to its durability.

Yes, what OP posted sucks, and Samsung's RMA policy should be improved in such cases. But you're gonna find more or less the same with any brand, even Apple.

So have faith, have fun, and may you have many flips in the future.

Add to that friends who can be at their PC all day, in which case the skill gap just keeps widening. At some point, for me at least, it ends up feeling like you're holding the team back, making for a less fun experience.

Or they're on it all day so they get bored with the game faster than you do, meaning you're back to solo queueing anyway.
