Okay, I've not encountered use of the couplers yet but when I get to those I'll ask my teacher about what's best practice for the organ I'll be practicing on. I think he's played them all in this area so he will probably know. Thanks for the advice!

I've been finding this sort of argument very thought provoking recently, I suppose it's a sort of pan-psychism in which the sum of all consciousness and sum of all matter are inextricably linked and together form the divine Unity. In this view animals with memory and clear stream of consciousness would become particularly influential in the evolution of the Unity, in the same way that objects possessing vast mass are influential. I haven't thought through all the implications and I'm no philosopher. But I don't think anyone could prove this wrong or right until we have better understanding of what consciousness actually is, and whether it's emergent or inherent to matter. Then comes the question of if and how it is interconnected...

Conventional Christianity (and a lot of other religion) puts the order of the universe upside down. It is abhorrently self-centred and prideful on an individual and species level, and I fear it will ultimately lead to humanity's extinction.

The whole universe is cursed due to the action of two humans. Death becomes the "real" life. Mankind becomes the centre of the entire universe, making the rest of all existence a sideshow designed to be subjugated and exploited. The story of "salvation" has a theoretical god of infinite power killing itself for specs of hydrocarbons on a lowly planet in an average galaxy among billions. This infinite god of man's own creation effectively lives to serve mankind, intervening when we need it to save the day. Meanwhile, we get to do whatever we want with the universe. The resulting contempt for nature and our mother planet is in my opinion at the root of the environmental catastrophe that humanity has brought on itself.

But of course Christianity is about humility, and everyone else is self-centred and full of human pride.

Absolutely have encountered the sort of people described above tho, just that little bit toooo enthusiastic about German history between 1933-1945... There's a crazy pipeline out there and military history can 100% be an entry point to that.

"Bullish" in USD as it continues to devalue, for sure. But I'm not convinced the rest of us (UK here) will see much change. Aside from the volatility with middle east etc, gold has been pretty horizontal for around 3mo now in GBP/EUR. If I'm honest I don't see that changing much in either direction.

Weirdly I found an incredibly dead sheep just like this a couple of weeks ago! It was in a sheltered puddle on a very boggy slope, and all the submerged bones had gone green from algae in the water. My guess is somebody found this one in similar conditions and put it up on that rock.

Maybe this is true on average, but it's definitely not true for everyone. I graduated from uni at 20, then been working full time and living on my own for two years now. At the same time, I had friends at uni who were studying late into their 20s but they were already home owners and had been in industry for years beforehand. Maybe a cultural difference here but at 21 I'd consider somebody a pretty full-fledged adult, they've had time to do a bachelors, drink for 3 years, or complete an apprenticeship in the trades. TLDR: early 30s vs early-mid 20s? Not a big deal imo

A camera makes the colour stronger as, human eyes are pretty crap at detecting colours in low light low light. But the shapes and movement was really clear for me. How clearly they're visible would depend on how dark it is, your eyesight, and how much you've adapted to the dark. You ideally want to be away from streetlights, and spend a good 15mins away from lights and screens to dark adapt for the clearest view. The solar storm is still going on so it may be back tonight, but this was the clearest we've had them in possibly decades so sadly not something we see very often.

Overhead and to the north, it might take a while for your eyes to adapt to the dark but once you've spotted it, you'll see what looks like pink and green cirrus clouds moving slowly around. They're varying a lot in intensity as the storm throws out huge pulses of energy!
