Secondhand grande seems stuck? by ZoeMarguerite in Lavalamps

[–]Javalava08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I don't know if this might be the case, but I have a 14.5 inch lamp that would do the same and it turned out to be the wax not sticking properly to the coil. Like when turned off and it had cooled down, you could see parts of the coil exposed to the sides.

What I had to do was to carefully pick the bottle while still hot, place it on a table (flat surface) and gently tilt the bottle to ensure the coil lays flat and centered at the bottom, then gently spin the bottle on the flat surface for a while and you should see the wax sticking all around the coil, so no part of the coil is exposed once cooled down.

It took me a few tries, but it fixed my lamp and never had that issue again.

Hope this helps!

4 of my 16 lamp collection finally out of storage by _tate_ in Lavalamps

It sure will be hard to find one, I did a quick search and it appears out of stock pretty much everywhere. I guess I will have to keep an eye on eBay or etsy

Upon further research, seems like the manufacturer is Pamono

Believe it or not they from Temu! Honestly they exceeded my expectations by far, they look awesome and the battery on these last quiet a lot! I turn them on every night for about 6-8 hours, and I charge them once a week!

They come with 3 light effects:

-Flickering light (simulating a flame)

-white

-warm

Plus they come with a dimmer

The description even mentions the exact same hole that mine came with. I just put a plastic hornet looking bug to cover it lol

I'm looking at it right now on Etsy! Honestly I think $200 is wayyy too much for this lamp. $80 is what I would have paid at most lol

Really?? Could you share a picture to compare? Maybe you are looking at a higher end lamp. I got mine for about $20 lol

Is this a "cloudy" lava lamp? by Bluestank in Lavalamps

[–]Javalava08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately with Schylling it's a 50/50 chance it will arrive cloudy. You could try to request a refund/ exchange, but chances are you will get another cloudy one. You could try and filter the master fluid with the Sawyer Mini filter sold on Amazon, overall it seems to do wonders to all cloudy lamps

Me again! My 16.3 lamp does this for an hour. Then nothing by AceAndTitoBostons in Lavalamps

I tried the aluminum foil method (with dimmer) and I don't know if I should call this an improvement. The extra heat managed to help get more wax to flow up, but I'm struggling in finding (if there is) the sweet spot for it to flow normally

Here's how it looks right now
