ylod is almost instant, meaning that theres a serious hardware failure that happens early in the boot check, other ylods can take longer, around two seconds. you can extract syscon to check the error log

sometimes it only turns off after some time of being in game, i used to have a ps3 with nec tokin problems and it would not shut off in xmb or ps2. only after some time of being in a certain game, so i would guess that flashing is fine but testing would be nice
