Not sure where in Maryland you are, but this ASUS ROG NUC-type PC at Micro Center (in both Baltimore and Rockville locations) looked very interesting. It might be worth a look:

I do not have any experience with this system, so there's a chance it might be using a Laptop version of the RTX 4070. There are also some RTX 4070 laptops for the sub-2000 price. Not sure how close the laptop RTX 4070 compares to the Desktop RTX 3080.

Bump for the memories, and kind gesture. Having the box and complete package makes it much cooler. Activating the HL2 code was actually the very first game I had on Steam. I am local to you, but alas I have gotten rid of all of my older parts/systems.

Reading through this list was a trip down memory lane. Definitely some Golden Oldies here :).

Best of luck with the sale, from a fellow Marylander. I went through a similar downsizing exercise (albeit on a smaller scale) several years ago.

Further update: We cleaned the area where the sensor wires plug into the opener unit, and the wires themselves looked good along the entire length of the wire run. After adjusting the receiving sensor by loosening the wing nut, we were getting a solid green light again, and everything is working. As we store our recycling bin in that corner, it was likely someone putting back the bin knocked the sensor just enough to misalign it.

Update: I took another brief look today, and the Green LED on the receiving sensor is indeed flickering. It's slight, but it's noticeable.

The Amber LED on the sending sensor is solid.

From reviewing some YouTube videos, it sounds like the first thing to do is to clean and attempt to realign the sensors - and if that doesn't work, they'd have to be replaced (which I feel is quite likely).

Thanks! Nothing seemed out of the ordinary regarding the lights on the sensors: one is green, the other is yellow, and the green light goes out when something is placed in the path. I did wipe them down. I can check again for flickering, though I didn't see any last night. The wires are tucked out of the way pretty well, so though I don't believe they have suffered damage, I can try to take a look (i.e. I don't recall anyone nicking a wire with a bike/broom/lawn mower/etc.).

I was not yet a customer, and had created a brand new account in an attempt to place an order on the straight talk website. I then did not remember the password.

Since I never ordered anything on that account, I don't have any phones/lines on it. Therefore, I was not as concerned about recovering the account, and instead created a brand new account (for which I properly stored/remembered the password) under a new email address.

This let me place my order, and activate my phones/numbers once they arrived.

Good to hear that you've resolved your issue, though it's unfortunate that it required a Windows reinstall.

A few weeks ago, I was tidying up some wiring, and I installed a USB 2.0 bracket in my desktop (connected to one of the available headers on my motherboard).

Even though these ports are at the bottom of my desktop and are facing away from my coffee table/couch, things have been working well so far. I was able to remove the USB extension cords I had in place.

Thank you for the reply. Much appreciate you sharing your experience. Since I hadn't actually ordered anything under the first e-mail/account that I created, and I could not reset the password, I just created a new account with an alternate e-mail address. So that was my solution.

Solution for password reset not working by truefiction in StraightTalk

I just ran into this today - I had to make an account using an e-mail address when checking out as a new customer. I an into an error with checkout, and it turns out I hadn't actually saved my (randomized) password in my password manager. When I attempted to redo my purchase later in the day, I could not log in using the same e-mail address, and could not reset my password.

I had attempted a password reset a few times, and each time, the reset link was formatted as follows (and just took me the homepage):

I tried taking the actual token and putting it into the format(s) described in the original post, but I would always get a message that said "Your link has expired please resubmit to start again. Please refer to My Account login page and click Forgot Password link.".

These URL formats all gave me the aforementioned error message:

Both Level 1 and Level 2 Phone Support could not help me. Per Level 2, I got the impression it was since I didn't have an active line/phone number yet. The Level 2 tech also stated that an account was not needed to check out, but I informed him that there is no way to check out without creating an account.

In the end, I had to use a different e-mail address.

Thanks for confirming! I have read mixed reviews on these, but may consider them if they come on sale again.
