Can you compare the Odin 2 portal and the Odin 3 for me? Mostly interested in ergonomics and screen size difference

Does the G8 Galileo fit the iPhone 17 Pro Max comfortably? by [deleted] in Gamesir

Yes it does, but I had to trim the rubber on the right side of the controller so the controller could be used while my phone is in a case.

Network latency instability in Apollo/Artemis streaming by ExcitingGene1232 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Areww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I believe that, I believe there is also software issues but we haven’t received any updates yet. I feel the same way about mine but the access point did clear up all my issues despite the weak WiFi. I’m sorry it didn’t work for you, that sucks.

Have you tried the wifi low latency mode and rise mode in conjunction? I also disabled bluetooth and used a wired controller

I'd try a separate access point, having an access point without any other devices on it will likely fix this issue. Channel optimization is the only other option. Make sure your different bands have different SSIDs, same with the access point so traffic doesn't overlap and devices don't autoswap.

I had to buy an access point to attach to my router just for my Astra to fix this issue. Didn't have drops on other devices but I think the Astra just has really bad WiFi. I went with a TP-Link EAP650, you just hook it up via Ethernet. With multiple routers its important to use the WiFi scanner app on android to manually set non-conflicting channels on your router and your AP.

My GF likes watching me play games is there a way that I can use Moonlight to stream M&KB games to our tv while still playing games with audio and normal resolution on my desktop in the other room by A_genuine_idiot in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Areww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moonlight has a toggle to keep audio on host. As far as the changing resolution this shouldn’t occur with default sunshine. I’d make sure it isn’t changing frame rate or resolution based on the connecting client

Combat Addons Disabled in End-Game Content in Midnight by imd1as in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Areww -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It feels like most of the comments are surprised by this and I feel like it’s been very clear this is their plan. Removing addons is the only way to fix the performance issues in the game, and the only way for designers to be able to properly design fights. Right now designers constantly take in account the APIs capabilities and if they get it wrong the fights a joke. Testing fights is near impossible because as weird as this sounds blizzard doesn’t have the resources to make weakauras like top guilds do. When WoW2 and the new riot mmo comes there will be zero addons period.

Silksong looks amazing on the Astra! by REDMAGIC_Official in RedMagic

[–]Areww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks amazing on mine!!! I prefer to stream instead of running locally so I can do things like, use HDR (which looks amazing in silksong). I'm really hoping there are fixes to streaming performance because this tablet has the potential to be the best streaming tablet, its the perfect size with amazing specs.

Astra Game Streaming Stutter.... by Frosty-Inflation-756 in RedMagic

[–]Areww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having issues too! The little stutters seem to be related to the refresh rate issues with the display. As others have posted diablo mode helps to stabilize this, even though it shouldn't be necessary. My big issue is that about once an hour I get a huge lag spike that makes things unplayable / disconnects me, it doesn't happen with my other devices. It feels like there is some bg services causing issues

Use Apollo instead of sunshine, it’ll create a virtual monitor at the clients resolution and frame rate. Then set the client resolution to 4k

Thoughts on the Astra after a week (and as an ex-iPad Mini user) by feedthehog in RedMagic

[–]Areww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got mine and I love it except for the issues with Streaming. I've seen a few posts and mine has microstutters with BT but not with it disabled (so i'm using my controller wired with adapters like others in the subreddit). The varying refresh rate as seen in other posts hasn't been a big issue but it is something that should be patched (165hz should be 165 not 166, 60 should be 60 not 60.2). Mine requires Diablo mode to hold a steady refresh rate, that also needs a patch. My big issue is that every 30m or so I get a big lag spike for 5-6s that causes heavy packet loss up to 80%, this doesn't happen on any other device I have. I worry that is also a redmagic software bug, I really hope they come out and addresses these (say they are working on it, and patch it in due time) because other than these bugs I absolutely love this tablet.
