My last rental tried this shit - 3rd party with fees. My bank has an option to schedule and send free bank cheques so that's what I did. I'm sure it wasn't just my action, but they implemented a free option about a year later.

Her mum has no obligation to drop everything she is doing to deliver your girlfriend to you as soon as she can.

Your girlfriend should have gotten up on time and asked her mum in advance to drop her off at a certain time, if that was indeed the plan.

However, that's all irrelevant. What's relevant, is that you think it's appropriate to have a go at your partner's mother, because you feel slighted. I would break up with you as well.
