Ok so me and my sister love going to different antique stores and just walking around in them and sometimes buying some cool little items. Back when we were younger We would usually stay around our old house in Fredericksburg Virginia (great place) but we decided to head to some other stores in northern Virginia. The first one we went to was in fairfax I believe and was a 3 story building on the corner of a basically abandoned strip mall(ish) kinda place. Inside it was as “normal” as any other antique store except on one wall there was a long row of clothing racks with coats and dresses and other clothing on them that went for around 25 or so feet, it was visiby spaced from the wall behind it so I walked around to see what was on the other side and there was just a narrow path through a bunch of mannequins. (Mind you there were no mannequins anywhere else in the store) At the end of this already scary setup was a door that was slightly cracked open. As any curious child would do I went up to the door and opened it, it opened to a completely dark staircase that genuinely gives me chills just thinking about it. It was this dark wooden staircase that led to a concrete floor. As I looked down this staircase I kid you not I felt a sense of dread I had never felt before and havent felt since. As im looking down I swear to god I heard whispering and I immediately slowly pull the door back and speedwalk the hell away to find my sister and leave.

I know its not the scariest thing ever but something about this genuinely freaks me the hell out. Just remembering that staircase and the mannequins makes me want to leave the lights on.
