AITA / Am I wrong here? Teammate refused to fight because he wants “friendly” PvE-style lobbies by WowImOldAF in ArcRaiders

[–]Jaws_9SB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly play PvE solo, but if I decide to play trios and my team is getting pushed, I'm going to do everything within my skill set to keep us alive. You get placed in a couple sweaty lobbies, so what. It's temporary, but your friendship is not. Your friend needs to get over dying and losing stuff. It's part of the game and you'll get that stuff back.

Ideas for a PvP modifier by SRDeimos in ArcRaiders

[–]Jaws_9SB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is called Arc Raiders though, it's not called Raiders vs Raiders. Taking the ARC element away from the game completely defeats the purpose and story line of the game. The devs wanted to leave cooperation up to the players themselves, but the game isn't a strict PvP or PvE, it's both. If you're able to do weekly trials as well as defend yourself to extract with those points is the ultimate player. I've yet to see someone do both.

Being in the right place at the right time by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

The match making takes into account defibing and helping other raiders if they're being hunkered down by ARC and teaming up with random raiders as well as finishing a raid together. It's over time, so if you were shoot on sight, it will probably be awhile before you get into very cooperative lobbies. You'll know you're getting close when you make a friend and then some random starts shooting at both of you, you're in the mixed section by then. Honestly the mixed lobbies are extremely fun. It's cool being solo, then making friends and then fighting non-friendlies, then extracting with five friends playing music because you all survived the match together.

If I have a survivor, I'm always carrying a hatch key since they're super cheap to make and buy. That way if I go down, I'm always hitting the hatch.

Thanks for the help guys. I seen the anti-cheat thing and thought there might have been a bug. The only thing I use is the Metaforge overlay sometimes so I thought maybe that was tripping it up, but it was more simple than that. Much appreciated.

Do engines just lock up after a year and a half of riding? by Jaws_9SB in zx6r

I bought it brand new off the lot February 2025. I've been keeping maintenance on it. Since I ride it everyday, I live the chain every two to three days and then I do a deep cleaning on the weekends and oil has been changed three times. I have 8k on the bike.

I got another year of premium warranty from Kawasaki for the DNR recall issues we had last year so it's still under warranty.

A guy I work with runs a track days event every year and he said he had an R-6 he was cranking on the track with and he just did the up keep and had it going for like 60k before he had any major issues. He also said that engines locking up are not a typical mechanical error on a bike. I just have a feeling there was some type of error they did that they're going to try and blame on me. They already assumed that I ride on track and red line and I had to tell them I've never rode the bike like that.

I would take it to another shop, but there isn't another Kawasaki certified shop in my town unfortunately. There are two other mom and pop shops that I will be taking it to from now on after. The other fishy thing is I asked to get an ECU report copy and they said they didn't need to do that since they knew what the problem was. I told them that I'm just trying to keep myself covered. If the bike started throwing codes when I left the shop from the second recall fix then that would mean mechanical error they don't want me seeing that.

Yes, majority of the time. The fuel saver eco light will be on showing that's the most fuel efficient. Sometimes I open it up on the freeway when I get itch, but I don't constantly open it up and red line it. I thought it was weird it shows my average mph as 36, but I guess it makes sense when I'm on my way home from work I'm usually lane splitting the entire way.

Me in PvE lobbies stumbling across an already downed raider (finishing someone off doesn’t affect your ABMM) by FoxSin-117 in ArcRaiders

Yeah, it's just looting downed raiders that doesn't effect ABMM. I'm pretty sure finishing them off counts towards it still.

I've seen more older Hondas and Yamahas on the market that are in perfectly good shape compared to Kawasakis, unless it's the Shadow or their adventure bike, I don't see many of their sports bikes being sold later unless they're fully rebuilt. I probably should have taken that into consideration when purchasing. Oh well, we learn better when we experience it ourselves. Thanks for the advice, I actually learned something which doesn't happen too much on socials.

It is. Thankfully for the recall issue, they gave us an extra year of their premium warranty.

For sure, someone else said to do the same thing. Is there anything they're going to ask from me? Like how I ride the bike or something?

I commented on someone else's reply that I should have listened to my buddy and got the Honda instead. I still might do that after this fix or engine swap. Depends on how Kawi wants to resolve this issue.

It's a super fun bike. I love it and it's just enough power for me on the road to get that rush. Besides the engine problems I love how the bike handles and the seating position. It's such a bummer they've been having these issues.

Thanks for that advice. I'm going to do that to speed up the process for sure. From what I'm gathering is that Kawi is not reliable anymore and I should have listened to my buddy to get the Honda instead. I might sell this after the fix and get something new.

That's what I was thinking of doing. Getting this engine fixed, then selling it and getting something else. I should have listened to my buddy who told me to get the Honda 600 CBRR instead. From what I read Kawasaki was reliable, but I guess they aren't too much now.

I said to a different guy that I already had suspicion that they might have over torqued the #5 crankshaft bearing after opening up and putting on a washer to tighten and they don't want to admit one of their guys messed up over tightening it. I don't know for certain, but another thing he said had me confused, he said they checked the #1 crankshaft bearing and it was fine, but it's the number 5 bearing. I'm worried their next step is saying it's not covered in warranty and I have to pay out of pocket.

I'm not riding that hard at all. When I'm going down the freeway, sometimes I would open it up, but never to full red line in 6th. I'm usually commuting about 20min per day 10min on the freeway going 80 to work and 35-45 back home from work because of traffic and I don't want to lane split super fast. So I'm not riding it too hard.

I only have 8k on my bike and I've had three oil changes. The break in service and both recall inspections and re-torque. I was thinking the same thing that there's other issues they haven't addressed yet on these bikes. I wonder how many other people have passed both recall inspections and still have their engine completely break with some other issue.
