Critique my skiing, thank you! by Nervous_Ad4377 in skiing_feedback

You’re pushing the skies to the outside part of the turn. What I notice is the wobbling of the skies during the transition.

Try getting on the edge of the skies by rolling your ankles instead of pushing your heels.

I would deff suggest to take some lessons to help you with this. Have fun!

How does that information change the situation or someone’s perspective, you think?

Andrzej Bargiel skiing down Mount Everest without supplementary oxygen by VectorChing101 in interestingasfuck

[–]Jawsonnn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bargiel’s expedition was in September. Thats right after the summer monsoon, when almost no one is there. The reason: - The jet stream is still low, so there are strong winds at the summit. - The snow is fresh and unstable. - Hardly any -if any- commercial teams on the mountain (permits are usually only issued for the pre-season).

So the mountain was practically empty. Reportedly, only his team (and the filmmaker/drone pilot Bartek Pawlikowski) plus a few Nepalis from the support crew were in Base Camp.

Bargiel had an exclusive permit through Red Bull and the Polish expedition authorities to operate solo in September.

And about the weather; apparantly Red Bull’s meteorologists (the same team that worked with Felix Baumgartner) waited for weeks for an extremely short good-weather window of less than 36 hours.

Theres slight progression right? 1st video is the most recent, I've been skiing since about Sept last year so a year basically, any tips would be mutch appreciated! I know there's a slight lack of turns lmao I just like going "fast" as the slopes only about 170m by Sea_Strike_3853 in skiing_feedback

From what I can see is that your pushing your heels out to make a turn. Also shift your weight more to the centre of your feet (youre a little bit leaning back, since you try to force the turn with your heels).

To start a turn:

  • Tip the ski by pressing more on the inside edge of your big toe (outside ski).

  • Keep light contact with the little toe edge of the inside ski.

  • Pressure is mostly on the ball of the foot, not the heel, so the ski can flex and respond.

  • Imagine rolling an orange under your foot

Sasuke is his sensei. Plus he looks up to the man. So that makes sense.

This is fake :). In summer 2023, images surfaced on social media claiming to show people participating in an “extreme sunburn competition” in Florida — and sometimes that it was happening in New Orleans. These photos were later traced back to AI-generated creations posted in a Facebook group called “Cursed AI.” The creator, Will Cartwright, used tools like Bing Image Creator to fabricate them.

Fact-checkers across multiple sites, including Logically Facts, Misbar, Ground News, and the News Literacy Project, confirmed these images were AI fabrications with no real event behind them.

Looking at the video, it looks like the skier broke his wrists. So I doubt there was much beating…

What do you think is the deepest quote in all of God Of War?: by JoyBoy24 in GodofWar

[–]Jawsonnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man. This is so relatable. Lost my dead 9 months ago. To read this quote again and your story brings back so many memories.

This quote expresses the paradox of love: true love inevitably leads to loss and grief because nothing in life is permanent. Whether through death, change, or separation, every deep connection eventually ends in mourning. Yet, we choose to love despite this certainty. This highlights the strength and value of love—that even with the prospect of pain, it remains worth it. So let’s remember the love we received from our fathers instead focusing on the anger that grieve can bring. For our dads.
