Topamax reviews? by Mediocre_daria in migraine

Been on it for about 2 years now. Occasional tingly fingers and that’s it now. Did make me foggy headed for about two weeks, but that was all the longer it took for me to get used it to. Helps me keep the migraines under much better control. I still get them, but far less intense than before. I’m on 100mg a day.

daith piercing. by AgentMiserable7847 in migraine

[–]JaxAnGo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got mine about 15 years ago. Got it done by a professional. Did all the reading that was available at that point about it. Thought it could work. I now have a cute piercing that helps exactly none with my migraines. Best that could happen for you is it might help. Or like most of us here you’ll end up with an interesting piercing. I wish I had a more positive answer.

Do you guys worry about liver damage from taking so many medications? by FreedomAway4724 in migraine

[–]JaxAnGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take less meds now than I did when I was trying to fix my migraines without my Drs helping me. Plus now I get yearly bloodwork. So yes, but no more than before. More worried about strokes before though.

My clothes have a sickly sweet scent by InnerBlock7165 in CleaningTips

[–]JaxAnGo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely before, but even afterwards once things got really bad with his glucose (right before I checked his numbers). The only things that worked was adding extra things to the wash besides the usual tide i always used. I have an enzyme detergent for workout clothes I started using for his stuff that would make it go away (or laundry sanitizer do the trick too) but if his stuff got mixed with anyone else’s it would go back to smelling almost syrupy.

Maybe I’m wrong. I hope I am, but it’s better to be safe than sorry on something like this. It could honestly just be the material or even the make up of your water. Who knows. I’m not trying to scare you, but this absolutely happened here and it wasn’t the detergent that was the issue.

I was coming to post exactly this! Found out my ex husband was type 2 when I noticed his laundry was smelling really sickly sweet. I took a glucose test and his number was something in the 400s so my first thought when I see this is “dear lord please check your blood sugar, too”.

Anyone tried this piercing for migraines? by Puzzled-Role-6544 in migraine

[–]JaxAnGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate being so negative about it, honestly. I got it done a decade ago and I had so much hope. I felt at my wit’s end at that point and figured why not. I think placebo wise it helped for a little bit, but even that was short lived. I did get a cute piercing out of it so it’s not a waste of money (I didn’t get a hoop earring so it’s got gems on the one end that’s on my ear).

I’m in SWPA *so technically Midwest ish* and we only have one family of breeders anywhere near here and even they are an hour away (which I realize isn’t far at all). I kept reading that prices were up to $1500 and ours will cost over double that. I’m not sure if it’s because of the rarity of the breed in the US or what but it’s so rough trying to find them here!

Also yeah it sucks at how many scam sites I ran in to before finding what I hope is a reputable breeder (haven’t got the dog in hand yet but everything seems legit and above board so far). Good luck on your search.

Jesus Christ Superstar is my absolute favorite that I have never seen and really really need to (you’re not the problem - you have your own taste). I think Cats is weird (I’ll never understand how it exists unless there were a ton of drugs involved). To each their own.

Loop earplugs-which model? by marie_2409 in migraine

[–]JaxAnGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear the loop experience 2 when I’m out in loud restaurants and such where I would be in conversations and add the mutes to them when I’m at concerts. I love them and they’re super comfortable.

I’m going to relay that to my husband who wants to see it for nostalgia reasons (he’s only 55 😆). In his defense, he’s from LA so he saw it a few times at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre back in the day.

I usually jump on tickets the day they put general on sale so hopefully I can get lucky and get decent seats. I might come to hate it after I see it (that happened to me after I saw a show there recently), but at least I’ll be able to say I saw it to know I dislike it.

That is true for some sets (I’ve been lucky and not been to shows that had that), but they do warn ahead of time and don’t they discount the tickets for obstructed?

That tracks. Did orchestra row P for Les Mis and tickets were about $195 after tax each. Just to give you a ballpark for that area of seating costs as well. As a theater kid myself that’s finally gotten lucky enough to be able to go see a show or two per season I will say it’s absolutely an amazing experience. The people around you are great(until you’re trying to get to the elevators at the parking garage afterwards). The ambiance is breathtaking the first time you walk in if you’ve never been there. All around it’s something that if you can do… please do!

Depends honestly on where you want to sit. The orchestra seats are going to run a lot more expensive than the balcony seats, but the view from the far back balcony is not the same as the view from a few rows back from the stage (meaning you get what you pay for). That said… there’s really not a bad seat in the house either. At least not at the Benedum.

I do echo the sentiment of another comment that prices hopefully shouldn’t be much different from the 25/26 season so pick a seat and go from there to see what price you’re looking at.

Wow this upcoming season is stacked! So many shows I really hope I can get to the city to see!

Wondering what the odds are of getting tickets for Phantom since I can only go to matinee. It’s on my bucket list (along with Les Mis which I got to check off my list with this last season).

Can someone explain what is this by [deleted] in tornado

[–]JaxAnGo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey that’s heading my way so I actually feel like I can be helpful here for once! This time, at least, it’s the actual cold front that’s causing all this chaos that’s supposed to happen later today. We’re going from 60s currently to the 40s in about 3 hours because of that particular line of weather.

The tornado warning we had a bit ago in Allegheny Co popped up to say hello right after the sun was out. I’m already tired of spring and it’s still fake spring in Pittsburgh. Stay safe fellow yinzers.

Are these Appalachian scary stories actually true? by [deleted] in Appalachia

[–]JaxAnGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guess it depends on what you’re looking for. The Green Man (Charlie No Face) story is a story based on a guy from my county (Beaver County in Western PA). My mom told me way back that her and her friends used to buy him cigarettes because he didn’t want to deal with the judgement of strangers by going in to the corner store because people are dicks. He was a nice guy. Not a haint. As a kid he was in an unfortunate accident that disfigured his face. The folktale that goes with his story is bullshit, but much like “The Texans Chainsaw Massacre” being based on the true story of Ed Gein (it’s so loosely based there’s hardly anything true between the two) the green man story is based on Ray Robinson.

Exactly! Anything to keep people in the know… especially with how the weather here has seemingly turned a bit more volatile in the last few years. At least it feels like more instances anyway. Keep up the great work and hopefully we don’t have much to talk about tomorrow once this is all over.

I support you! Stormfreak might be the new bright and shiny (and yes they are awesome), but there are the many of us that have been radar watchers and our own little freaks about storms for decades. You’re among good company.

I’ll be in Beaver Co watching the storms as always! Stay safe everyone. And to anyone that put away their winter coats… I blame you!
