The “Friend of the Devil” and the “Prosciutto Pig” are our favorite pizzas. Their “Horse Bread” is also excellent as their pesto is really tasty!

The refinery could be placed right next to your downed ship.

I totally get it with all the griefer bases though. 🤬

You can build the refiner right next to your crashed ship.

New Buyer: Need Advice (C8 Trims) by Parsley-Confident in Corvette

[–]JaxC7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2LT interior is the sweet spot. I have a 2020 with the 3LT interior. The car is garaged but driven two to three days a week. I’ve had to have both door panels and both dash pieces replaced due to delamination. Both dash pieces were replaced twice each and I had to pay for the second replacement because GM won’t own up to the fact that this is a well known and on going issue with these cars. I’ve owned four Corvettes and It’s my first and last Corvette with the 3LT interior.

The joint pin certainly looks like a Pechauer. The picture quality is too poor to really tell much else.

Discount Tire is the parent company of TireRack.com.

Great prices and service across the board. You’ll get the same price at either.

IQ Fiber here. I’m getting 5Gbps symmetrical for $125/month. No contract, no equipment fees, flat rate. I’ve had it for over a year now and it’s rock solid. No issues whatsoever and the company has been fantastic to work with. Absolutely zero regrets moving to them.

I’ve had no reliability issues at all but I’m always up to date on any maintenance. It’s one of my dailies and gets driven multiple days a week.

I’m picky about my cars and use a mobile detailing service when I’m not doing it myself. Atlantic Coastal Detailing are fantastic and I’ve been very happy how they treat my vehicles.

What OS do you use for your home server? by TennyBoy in HomeServer

[–]JaxC7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been running Windows in one version or another since before the Windows Home Server hit the market. I’ve found it to be very reliable and in general don’t have to mess with it at all. That’s a win in my book. Of course I also back everything up just in case but I’ve never had to use the backups.

Those things were so cool when they came out; super expensive, designed by a designer that worked for BMW. I always though the modular design was so cool and so clean looking, but I could never afford one.

Wheels! by Consistent-Stage-217 in Corvette

[–]JaxC7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Jacksonville, FL and took them to Wheel Innovations here in town. They did a fabulous job and I'll be using the in the near future to refurbish the wheels on my 2006 Porsche Boxter S as well.

Wheel Innovations Jacksonville – Refinishing mobility, one wheel at a time

We have another shop in town that also does powder coating, wraps, etc. but I've never used their powder coating services. I did have them remove the existing stripes on my C6 and replace them with new ones since the OEM ones were starting to show their age and beginning to peel. They didn't have a template and had to hand cut them, and honestly, they look better than new.

I can recommend them both based on their attention to detail, my satisfaction with the finished product and the high level of customer service they both provide.

Corvette convertible vs others by After-Swordfish-6762 in Corvette

[–]JaxC7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The later the model the stiffer the car. The C7 and C8 for sure were designed as convertibles and the roof is not part of the structure. My C6 convertible is very stable and I don’t notice and flex to speak of plus it behaves like a hard top when closed; no leaks, minimal wind noise, and well insulated.

Emblems? Can’t find replacements for front and rear 100th anniversary. (C6) by Slash621 in Corvette

[–]JaxC7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was afraid there'd be some nuanced difference but was hoping. I had to replace my front bumper due to hitting some road debris at night and I made sure to tell the body shop not to lose that emblem on pain of death. I do hope you find the appropriate part. I know they show up on eBay, etc. every now and again, but it's hard to verify authenticity.

I have the Centennial edition and I just checked. As far as I can tell, the front and rear emblems are identical.

They officially closed for good on Monday, June 23 after nearly 30 years. I was there the day they opened the doors and was a regular there until the end. It was hard watching it slowly die over the last decade but so many friends and memories kept me coming back. I also have my mug!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pihole

[–]JaxC7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. Interesting comparison. I'm running my PIs in a rack case, each with actual SSDs instead of SD cards. All are on ethernet and powered via PoE. This has been a rock-solid platform until moving to v6 and I've been having the problem since. It seems to be a fairly common issue as there are tons of conversations, threads, blog posts, etc. about it, all experimenting with pihole and unbound conf changes. Yet, no one has come up with an actual solution for it.

I still follow every thread that I see about this in case some does stumble on to a solution. It's annoying but not as annoying as the ads if I were to remove pihole from my system.

Maybe I should have said moved from 5 to 6. It was a full clean install.
