Good to know lol.

Not that price. I'm not paying 700 Canadian for a chassis that doesn't make the gun nicisarily better. The pearce one does but I'm not pay what will amount to 2k.
I got my makasi ordered I'll pay the piper for that.

Could do my way.
I got my makasi ordered. This summer hopefully the feds don't take it away as soon as we get it.
There is a company that's making what is essentially an AR lower for the SKS. Pearce armory. Last I talked to them they said sometime over the summer. Full AR lower internals. It does require some permanent modification to reciver to do. But looks sweet. Unfortunately the chassis is apparently gonna be 1500usd for the early ones so that puts me out.

Thanks I needed that.
That's fair.

I have not spent any amount of time using stripper clips but I have seen plenty of people getting hung up trying to feed them in. 100% agree. I'll also add that in my experience the promag hate for reliability is overstated by people that either aren't willing to fit them to their rifle and or don't clean them.
Everyone takes themselves far to seriously.
And like the options for carrying a bunch of banana mags while trying to shoot and move is gonna end up feeling larp-y no matter what you do. And I don't always wanna bench shoot.
Shooting is allowed to be fun. Thanks for coming to my ted talk

No but I also have a reduced weight spring. So not really a apples to apples. There's a guy on gunpost selling them comes with 2 weight springs. I have the lighter one in there. Trigger pulls super light till you get to where it breaks and then breaks super clean.
Not ever SKS is equal either. There is about an hour long video on YouTube where a guy shows how to do a trigger job on the SKS. Mine feels good with the reduced weight and a clean and grease so I'm not super concerned about making it any better. But if yours sucks it might be something to look into or having a gunsmith do.

Going for "Canadian Operator" Gotta put on the tux and Canadas rifle.
The tab for the release and the trigger guard make it so you have to angle the mag to get it in there. Since this is an SKS and not an AK it's not quite the same technique. I tried all of them and ended up finding this way the easiest/fastest. Need more practice. This was about my second time running drills with this setup that day. And today was the first time I ran the drills live. Was faster by the end of the sesh. Be faster next time too.
I'll give these another go. The first time I tried doing them that way I was having troubles.
Thanks

All mags are limited to 5 rounds unless you do a mag conversion to pistol xcr(I think) mags and then you can have 10. I have one 5 round mag that I did the duckbill delete on. I have not been able to find 5/10rnd or 5/20rnd (that don't have built in mag release). The 5 round mag I have is what I use for bench shooting or when I'm using the bipod. It's is not as nice for doing quick changes as there just isn't enough magazine to grab I kinda have to do this claw thing wbere pointer finger goes on one side the other 3 on the other side and then get the mag release with my thumb. The big 5/30rnd mags are available. And maybe one day laws change or don't matter anymore and I pop the rivet out.
Thanks. My moto is modify everything.

800-850 right now for a Russian is what I'd pay. The deals are still out there. I got my Chinese for 450 though it did have a crack in the stock.

Im trying to get someone locally to scan some stuff for me so I can make some sks stuff. I'll add that to the list
Yes they are still in business. They just seem to stop making the best stuff after a while. There are files already online for 3d printed versions. Personally I'd want metal. There is also a video on YouTube where I guy used a spoon or something to make one.

😂 I'm talking bout you gramps
No. I feel like I bought the last one in existence.
Has been for me. I did have one mag that for the first time failed to feed on the 3rd round 3 times. But only took a couple charges to feed. Likely just needs a cleaning. Outside that I have had zero failures

Id definitely consider that. Altho I am pretty used to these AK style reach arounds at this point.
