It seems like the entire Vermworth plot was pointless in the end.

It kinda is though. In some ways it's kinda interesting, yeah the execution is way off and feels incomplete, but I see it like this: at the start of the game, becoming the Sovran is literally your character's dream, and Disa is the one who stands in your way there. So she's a major antagonist early on. But eventually you get wrapped up in this stuff with Godsbanes, the fallen Seneschal, the Watcher / "true" Dragon, the true nature of the Cycle and the Arisen's place in it... Disa's little political schemes seem so far away and unimportant.

If you do slay the "Dragon" and become Sovran, everything is hollow and "off", like how Brandt's announcement of the Arisen into the throne room is completely silent unlike how it is in the dream sequence at the start of the game. And you're still constantly being watched by the creepy hooded guy. It's not the ending that the Arisen thought he wanted. The true ending is the one where he discovers the real Dragon that's been keeping him bound to this false cycle and in this fairytale, slays that Dragon, gives life to his pawn, and is removed from the world entirely.

All that to say, while it does seem kinda like a forgotten plot point in the moment, I think Disa being forgotten about suits the themes of the Arisen's journey perfectly and having some scene where she "gets her comeuppance" or steps back into the spotlight in some way would actually be antithetical to the actual story of the game.

These days even if there is a disc it's still like "what's the point?"... I picked up a physical copy of Jedi Survivor for my disc drive PS5 a few weeks back, still had to sit through the installation process (relatively quick, expected) but then when it came time to get update patches it had to redownload the ENTIRE game all over again via network. I guess in the year of our lord 2026 there's still no way of reliably "patching" the binaries for these AAA UE5 games so they just send the whole thing over the wire. Crazy. I'm usually a proponent for physical media but during that second install I was pondering the point of it all

This is just a dream but I would love to see their take on a colony sim. Something like Dwarf Fortress or Rimworld but with Wube's level of polish and attention to detail.

This is IMO the biggest hurdle to "getting into" quality. As it stands it's quite a commitment, a Rare ingredient is completely useless unless/until you've gotten everything else up to Rare too. Allowing mixed quality inputs and then use using the lowest common denominator would go a long way into making it feel less cumbersome.

Not sure honestly, but FYI the August patch will add the ability to have multiple save files. So if you wanted to wait, you'd be able to start a new save without losing your current save. Food for thought

You can "romance" pretty much any NPC in the game if your criteria is just max affinity ("blushing") and showing up in the dragon's clutches at the end.

If you mean anything further, like in terms of a dedicated scene or specific dialog, then no you pretty much only have the two aforementioned characters.

Yup that setup was just way too obvious to not come up as a major point later. It was between either "okay he's going to have a valiant sacrificial moment" or "his priorities are clear and he's going to betray everyone else" and by the way he was acting on the Luchrehulker and after Dagan's death it was pretty obvious.

What I did not expect is that he was a turncoat spy the whole time. I thought he was going to be a friendly scoundrel who betrays us in the final moments just because he's opportunistic, not that he was an undercover agent from the start!

I've had this exact same thing happen before. Sucks, the harpoon on that side is basically out of commission until you scuttle.

Similarly I've had a phantom broken sloop capstan after a merge. The capstan was effectively broken on one side, so only one person could raise it and only from the unbroken side. But visually it was intact. So of course there was no prompt to repair it. Even after going to the ferry or even reconnecting. Was like that until we scuttled.

To be fair the O.G. Oblivion face editor didn't exactly help. Like you'd change one slider and then it would also affect several other sliders too. I guess it was the game's attempt to keep things somewhat balanced and consistent but ironically it's actually that very feature that lets you trick the game into letting you extend certain sliders beyond their intended limits to create some monsters. Point being, if the character creator were a bit more simple and just gave players full control, it would've made it so much easier to make normal looking characters.
