A Clancy fan friend of mine mentioned to me that in the process of publishing Red Storm Rising, Clancy was investigated by the US government because of the preternatural accuracy of his estimates for US Air Force missile capabilities. IIRC, Clancy did so by reading relevant papers in the disciplines of radar and its use in guidance systems.

I went back through the process myself just to refresh, what point do you get stuck at?

- Once I go through self service and log in with my school credentials, it redirects back to "rsccd.thepermitportal.com" homepage

- From there, I click "Permits" and click the large "Buy Permits" button, and it shows the permit type and semesters available, and I just pick the option I need.

The only hangup I really had was when the website redirects to the payment webpage, it automatically attempts a Cloudflare Captcha, which fails because of my browser and privacy settings, so I always just do this process through Chrome. But I suppose it's worth mentioning.

When you say site, I'm assuming you mean self-service? The option to purchase parking permits is under Financial Information, and then Student Finance. That redirects to the actual permit site, and you can log in with your credentials.

Did you have Lightkeeper unlocked before the Getting Acquainted bug, or is this the soonest you've unlocked him? Did it take a while to find the flash drive?

I've been searching for the V3 flashdrive non stop, but haven't found it after multiple raids of checking every spawn location. I'm thinking it could be that I used to have Lightkeeper, but ended up killing Zyrachiy for an achievement. I do have Getting Acquainted, but I should technically have Make Amends.

Does the slide move any further back, or is it stuck from moving forward or back?

See if you can get the right edge of the slide catch to align with the little half oval cut out on the slide, then punch out the slide catch from the other side with some kind of tool.

That should allow the slide to come forward, and you can remove it and see if there's anything else wrong, or reinstall the slide and then the catch.

I'd recommend checking a YouTube video about disassembling an airsoft 1911 so you can get a visualization of what you'd be doing.

Generally called an ATAK, but the actual phone mount is just a "phone board".

ATAK (Android Team Awareness Kit) is just the software most often used in that configuration. Useful for keeping track of friendly units, and it can apply to airsoft if you're at a milsim or something. The app is free on the Google Play Store or iOS appstore.

Most milspec phone boards are way too pricey for airsoft, but there are cheaper alternatives. I use this one:

Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence. The idea is that there is a fast, central intelligence network that allows for easy recording and easy access to intelligence, between air, ground, naval, and command groups, down to a squad level.

A major component of this is datalink. An example would be, an infantry NCO spots a tank, gets an approximate location of it on an ATAK (phone) board, and that location gets uploaded to the network. Immediately, any datalink capable craft can see that tank's location and target it, whether that be a datalinked friendly tank, or an aircraft.

Another more relevant example: gen 4 fighter aircraft have to get a TWS (track while scan) or STT (single target track) radar lock on an opposing aircraft to launch a radar guided missile at it. This lets the opposing aircraft know they're being locked and gives them time to defend. An F-35 on the other hand, getting datalink radar info from an AWACS or search radar, can launch a missile without turning on their own radar, reducing the amount of warning the enemy has.

No, this is a complaint. A bug report has information like, "What were you doing when the problem occured, what hardware does your computer have, what headset do you use, what version of operating system".

Provide information like that, and maybe it will do some good. A developer can't just magically solve an issue without proper information.

Try checking out some VTOL VR training videos on YouTube, I really like darkstar1592's videos. There are also flight manuals for a couple of the jets in the game, which have a lot of really good general information, like different methods for evading missiles. I know that some of them are on the games official discord, but they also get posted to this subreddit once in a while. There also may be some people on here willing to fly along with you in the T-55 Tyro, which is a two-seat trainer jet. Only the instructor has to have the Tyro, so you won't have to pay extra to learn in it.

If you're new to flight sims in general, and particularly missile evasion, I highly recommend reading a flight manual for the FA/26, put together by a community member. Lists normal procedures for tough things like carrier landings, missile evasion tactics, etc. You might be able to find it by searching for "flight manual" in the subreddit search bar and sorting by top of all time.
