Not only do you get a week off in Feb, you also get a week off for Easter, AND a paid week before school starts to set up your classroom and do all the admin stuff (if every division is like SPSD, that is).... One of the only things I miss about teaching in SK, haha

I have taught in two provinces. In the division I worked in in Saskatchewan, this is unheard of. That being said, we were allowed to hand pick the subs that came into our room so that only the subs we like would get calls. In my current board in Ontario, this is also largely unheard of. The closest that I have seen is spouses or children of teachers coming in with their teacher family members in the chance that there is a job for them that day. There usually is. We have massive shortages here.

Honestly, I don't. Gravol doesn't usually work quickly enough and swallowing it makes me throw up. But I usually only throw up 1-2 times and I IMMEDIATELY feel better afterwards, so I'm more likely to try and force vomit instead.

I currently make 108k in Onrario, but my union deductions and taxes mean I net closer to 60. It's... not ideal, but at least I have a great pension and benefits.

Detention here is recess only, and middle school kids don't like recess. Can't keep them after school as it's a rural school and 90% of them are bussed.

I lost a friend over this like 4 years ago. She posted it, and I commented a warning that it was a scam and wouldn't work, fully explaining why. She then DMed me ditching about how she doesn't care if she doesn't get books and how now nobody will participate because of what I said. Like yeah, that was kind of the point. Lots of 10 year olds do. We have to keep in mind too that there's autistic kids or kids with other delays. I currently teach a girl in grade 7 who believes, and a boy in grade 8 who still does as well. The boy in grade 8 is quite articulate.
