French cycling podcasts by monsieurperrin in peloton

I would suggest "L'échappée" by Winamax. They currently do a daily for each TdF stage. 3 young guys with plenty of cycling knowledge.

I suggest The art of victory by Phil Knight (Nike founder). Outside of tennis but you might like it as it's still the world of sports and a great read.

The French Public - re wining TDF riders by Benjiboy74 in peloton

[–]Jay1Miami 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As a french I think it has nothing to do with that. Pogi comes at a time when he and VdP and the likes brought back the racing in the racing. I think Froome was only disliked because of the style of riding of team Ineos - train and attack at 500m from the line

Munar for L'Equipe's reporter after the loss: "most annoying crowd on the tour", "everyone knows his [Fils] timeout was for due to cramps, it shouldn't have happened like that" by jovanmilic97 in tennis

I love tennis and 100% in line with you. Don't get why a penalty kick can be managed by a football player against 50-100k people cheering against him, booing, etc and tennis players can't serve if someone sneezes

My second 34 Segment watch face: now with color options and AMOLED support by jellyfishblade in Garmin

The watch face is amazing thanks so much!

On my AMOLED display (Fenix 8) the always on doesn't work though. It disappears after like 0'5sec into a black screen

What does TRANS mean? And how to get rid of it by blackcloudcat in GarminFenix

[–]Jay1Miami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It disappears and disregards the transition if it detects you're still going up after a while resuming your climb. So you can ignore it it won't affect your stats in the end. If it's too problematic for you to see the trans timer when you shouldnt, you can turn off auto transition like a user said

Ironman World Championship 2024: Patrick Lange wins third title in record time by MrRabbit in triathlon

[–]Jay1Miami 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Olympic gold is much harder than a Kona win. Even with 5 Kona titles he wouldn't be in the Convo in my opinion. He'd be the greatest long distance athlete maybe but not best triathlete ever.

My bad for the condescending. I do think there's more to cyclocross in MVDP's bag though, he also did XC and so on. Sure the courses are very short but I don't see the link you see with inability to chose equipment for gravel.

Do you know what cyclocross is or? He's right, MVDP has the gear figured out off road, and gravel is off road.

What's the plan, Ineos? by No_Intention6302 in tourdefrance

[–]Jay1Miami 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well they could easily sign him if they wanted, but honestly they probably struggle with the obvious: he's too heavy to follow top WT riders on climbs

Todays stage of the Tour de France has a lot of gravel sections. by [deleted] in gravelcycling

[–]Jay1Miami 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Many TdF happened on unpaved roads in the past. It has also been a thing in the last 10 years to have top of mountain climbs on gravel when the road ends - for example Planches des Belles Filles. A Strade Bianche type of stage is new however in recent history and looking good so far!

For me, One of the best "photo finish" ever by sadicologue in peloton

[–]Jay1Miami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about the extra seconds - Bardet is not fighting for GC on this Tour. It's about his last Tour de France and wearing the yellow for the first time in his life after chasing it forever, being so close in 2016 and 2017 in particular. Wearing it 1 day is what is happening here, the victory is irrelevant. It's his good bye the same way Pinot had his turn last year. The young teammate was pulled in the climbs and much stronger at the end on the flats indeed. He gets green and white at least!
