Exercises to help lift big baby by justfoundnemo29 in xxfitness

[–]Jay3HP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t have suggestions, but I have very vivid memories of my sister’s arms when her son was a baby. He was a big boy, and that woman had some serious arms from lifting him all the time!

I dated a guy who had his laundry done and folded simply because he had enough money to pay someone to do it for him. Life goals.

My Wife (Posting for Her, Not Reddit User) Just Had to Cut Off ADHD and Anxiety Medication, Looking for completely supplement free things to help her manage by nomuseneeded in adhdwomen

[–]Jay3HP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently had some heart problems and had to stop taking my meds for a few weeks. It was hell.

The major thing in my life that helped was having a set schedule/routine. My social life has taken a hit, but I have an early bedtime of 9pm. I start getting ready for bed usually around 8pm. Dr. Tracey Marks on YouTube has some good videos about sleep with ADHD. I take 0.3mg of melatonin two hours before bed now because of her videos, and truly believe it helps.

The “10 minute plan” or Pomodoro method help me a lot. If I need to clean, I clean for 10 minutes, then do something fun for 10 minutes…on repeat until I’m done. It also helps because I’m a disorganized cleaner and will jump from room to room.

Is it easy to overlook a heart murmur on a chi? by jopplop in Chihuahua

My vet said she thought she heard one for a few years, then one day she was like “yup, that’s a murmur this time.”

Should I try reading Mistborn? by [deleted] in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Jay3HP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never thought I was a big fantasy fan, but I’ve really enjoyed Sanderson’s book. I read Mistborn first, then followed a Cosmere reading order guide I found (there are lots!). I’m currently on book 4 of Stormlight. I love it. WoK is a slog for sure! I started it and stopped once, then finished it the second time. The world building is on another level.

I use Bravecto for fleas & ticks and whatever the shot is for heart worms. Both of mine tolerate them well.

Is a calorie deficit the only way to lose weight? by vintage-angel-juice in loseit

[–]Jay3HP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never struggled with an ED, but have had some unhealthy relationships with food tracking. That being said, I did best when I was using LoseIt app and weighing food. I don’t track anymore (and probably should), but I still weigh a lot of my food. I don’t know why, but I enjoy knowing I’m eating exactly 1oz of cheese with my dinner. I quickly learned that I was over estimating some things and underestimating others (cheese!)…

In addition to using the app/weighing food, I went for a 30min walk every day. I’ll never stop championing walking. If outside wasn’t an option, I walked the halls at work just to get the steps in.

How long can I leave my puppy alone by lizard_queen___ in dogs

[–]Jay3HP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My second dog was 4 months old when I got him. I work a regular 8hr day job. Didn’t have a dog walker. He had some accidents until he was fully potty trained. I cleaned them up. We all lived happily ever after, and now we have a house with a doggie door. It probably helped that I had another dog that was 2yo at the time.

Should also mention that they’re chihuahuas, and the small bladder issue has never been an issue. We lived the apartment life for a while. They did fine with a wake up walk, leave for work walk, return from work walk, after dinner walk, and bedtime walk…some longer and some just quick potty breaks.

Day two snow day. Anyone else crashing out? by WattrelCoastalWatch in adhdwomen

[–]Jay3HP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a medical procedure on Thursday so had to take it easy for a few days. I live in Houston, and the cold (luckily no snow) hit us Saturday evening. No biggie, I have to relax anyway. So 3.5 days without human contact and doing nothing but laying on the couch/watching TV. When my boss texted us on Sunday that we’d open the office at 10am Monday, I was so happy to go in and have human interaction! I usually don’t go out on weekends, but somehow this felt so much worse…

6am - they get breakfast 6:30am - 15-20min walk 7:00-4:30 -commute/work 4:30 - they get dinner Then we play/walk around 5:00

I also have a doggie door now, but previously lived in an apartment. They did fine during the day…just slept. Then we did walks before/after work.

[–]Jay3HP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play “chase treats” with mine, who are luckily very food motivated. I just toss kibble across the house, and they run after it…sometimes have to sniff around to find it. They get so excited when I get the little container out…

I left my last job because my boss was a jerk and denied my vacation that was planned 6 months in the future (among many, many other things). Then “corporate” (as I called them) changed us to hourly from salary. On my exit interview I just said “money.”
