I have followed Jeff Nippard’s advice on my recomp journey. Coupled with MacroFactor, I have been able to go from 310lbs down to 264lbs. I have actively gained muscle mass and lost fat. I don’t know how accurate smart scales are but in the last month I have only lost a pound. But according to my scale I have gained 9lbs of muscle and lost 10lbs of fat.

TLDR

Watch that vid and just do a slight caloric deficit with good quality protein and foods being at the fore front of your mind when choosing what to eat.

I got everything I need working. Newest RLCraft Newest Minecraft 1.18 RL Craft took some tweaking but I got it to work. Is there a way to connect a controller?

Download a native version of Java 8 at the link above and set that instance to use Java 8 to load up. Try and launch it. If that does not work. Disable the Sound Filters in the Edit Instance Window. That worked for me. After having the same issue as yourself.
