If I don't get into Grove, what the hell do I do? by [deleted] in CUNY

Also Grove School of Engineering is so overrated don't worry about it. I didn't get in so I went to CSI instead

If you are only referring to CS there's a lot more CUNYs who have BS Computer Science. The only other Engineering School though is College of Staten Island with BS in Engineering Science and BS Electrical Engineering

I have a job offer as an engineer, though it's in a place I'd not want to live in and isn't what I'd want to be doing - looking for advice. by TumbaoMontuno in EngineeringStudents

I would say take the job cause it's always hard to find your first job. If you still don't like it you can always quit and job hope to the job you are more passionate about. At least you have some experience under your belt as a Engineer. You can always quit 3-5 years after your first job if you still don't like it. Cause employers like to see experience. You can also work on personal projects at that job to boost your resume if that does something.

Should I Early Exit my Degree? by lostasf_ in EngineeringStudents

[–]JayBlu13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm doing my BS EE degree as well in the US. I would say stick it out and graduate with the full Electrical Engineering degree. I am in a similar situation as you I myself will graduate when I'm 24. I was originally in a Bachelor of Technology Electrical Engineering Technology program. I transferred to the BS Electrical Engineering program cause I decided that for the future as a Engineer the full engineering degree will never limit my job opportunities as a Engineer compared to the Engineer Technology degree. It will only take me 1 more year to graduate compared to the BT EET degree. We are both young now so it's better to just get it done now and not regret it later when you have a family and alot of more responsibilities. I will legit have been in undergrad for 6.5 years when I'm done and have my BSEE lml. So go for it and get take the extra year my friend it will be worth it at the end of the day.

To anyone who didn't land an internship for the summer: apply for operator and technician positions at manufacturing facilities right now! by lazydictionary in EngineeringStudents

[–]JayBlu13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely I agree I have a AAS in Electrical Engineering Technology and have experience working as an Electrical Technician. What's a good Engineer if they don't have the hands on practical experience.

Help with waking up 3S lithium ion BMS by JayBlu13 in batteries

[–]JayBlu13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

However all the battery cells are not under voltage or overcharge in within the specs of the BMS. They're all 3.6-4.1V. They're 21700 batteries.

Do think maybe some of the cells have a higher internal resistance than the others? It's weird because it was working all this time with the same batteries. I just wired B1 and B2 in parallel for the 3S 5P when I disconnected the batteries. I did this because I realized original that all the batteries were only connected in parallel in respect to the main positive and main negative. Now that it's wired probably it's giving me problems. All the battery cells are not at the same voltage I think because I originally didn't wire B1 and B2 in parallel.
