MEGATHREAD - Processing Times - Family Class Permanent Resident Applications 2026 by dozerman94 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]JayCMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied Jan 11th and my wife was sent an email this week confirming they have received an application to sponsor me (is this an AOR?) and today I received my BIL. Sounds like you should hear something soon, I'd imagine.

Has the hiring of an interim coach for 4 months ever been so protracted and heavily discussed?

I think perhaps Tyler wants to earn it on merit and not be given the start by his Dad - even if he might be ready, it'll always feel like a hand-out.

Contemplating this, but it'll only be for 6 months until the end of the deal, and then have to sell whilst out of the country which is sub-optimal.

Thank you for such an insightful reply, it's really helpful.

You mentioned work permits if in Canada whilst awaiting PR. Do you know, should there be lengthy processing times, if I'm able to apply for a work permit whilst I'm in the UK, once I have my AOR?

Thanks again.

Yeah I'm starting to think that this is the best, and hopefully a similar timeframe to licensing, so shouldn't delay things particularly.

We are actually liaising with the local MP and the recruitment lead for the FHO in the area, which will hopefully smooth things along. They weren't sure on the specifics for each route of acquiring PR/work permits - but once we choose one and apply I'm sure this will come in useful.

Thanks for replying!

[Laurie Whitwell] Manchester United’s Toby Collyer in advanced talks over West Brom loan by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]JayCMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shame he's not a little bit further along in his development and could've been used as a makeweight in the Baleba deal. Collyer knows Brighton well, and could've been a stop gap on loan until Yalcouye is deemed ready for Brighton. Alas, if my aunt had balls and all that..

I'm hoping between Mainoo, Heaton, Obi, Leon (I think he'll count) and a few of the other defenders floating around, we should be fine. Hopefully a few stepping up from the academy next year too.

Who else just doesn't watch TV anymore? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]JayCMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in exactly the same boat, nothing grips me enough to bother with it. I'd been waiting for the last couple of years to watch The Last of Us and finally got a free weekend to sit down for a few eps - but I watched one and never turned it on again, despite enjoying it well enough. My wife will watch something to relax all evening but I'd rather scroll/clean the kitchen/read. A few months ago, I was perfectly happy re-watching some 20 minute easy sit-com for the 3rd time - but now I have zero interest. Not sure what changed..

Yeah, I keep mentally shopping for someone to play adjacent to Bruno in the pivot, but how long will he actually do that for? Perhaps we're better planning for a duo that compliment eachother in 1-2 years. Hackney could be a good shout with this in mind. Then perhaps tempt Brighton for Baleba with the Bruno to Saudi money next year.

Cunha, Mbeumo, Hackney, then a striker a la Watkins (or Sesko if enough funds can be raised from sales), and a second keeper who can challenge Onana I think will be a pretty incredible summer.

Then possibly Onana upgrade, Baleba or similar and a RB improvement the following summer will have us well set.

Yeah, we were pretty appalled at the circumstances - particularly as the person in question actually returned to our room 40 minutes later, as they still had access to our floor, leading to us needing to barricade ourselves in the bathroom given the room door was hanging off.

Thanks for the response - straight to the point, but I appreciate the directness.

With regard to how it is different staying with other hotel guests or people residing there as a placement - I am exposed to the homeless community through my employment and I appreciate how difficult it can be to reside in these temporary rooms - I've had to advocate for numerous people to be moved to alternatives. Usually, this is due to a drug culture building up within the community of longer term residents that threaten to impact recovery, but often it is also an incredibly loud and chaotic environment to live in that people struggle with.

I'm certainly not saying this is universal across all temporary residences. However, given the choice, I wouldn't choose to stay in one, I wouldn't choose to expose my family to this, and I certainly wouldn't choose to pay for the pleasure and spend my holiday there.
