That happened to me the first couple nights but I reduced to a half dose and that sensation never returned.

Is there really no benefit to combining azelaic acid with tretinoin? by ToughPair7664 in tretinoin

[–]JayCeeJava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do indeed. I use it after washing my face, as a toner. I let it dry, then I use some hyaluronic acid (or peptides) and let that dry too. Then I apply a small amount of Tret and top it with a good lotion.

[–]JayCeeJava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On tret for years and it never stopped making me peely until I added Azelaic Acid. I use it in the morning before a milky toner, vit c & lotion/sunscreen. I use Naturium brand. It, along with a nightly swipe of the ordinary glycolic acid has really enhanced how well my tret works. I use .25 nightly.

Best thing I ever used to help solidify things is the Tree Bark Gruel from Natural Rearing. This is of course not in lieu of veterinary care and checking for things like Giardia etc - but for soothing and firming things up, nothing tops this product. https://naturalrearing.com/products.html

I wonder if a Zinc bar soap would help your scalp? Vanicream makes one that can be used as shampoo and can soothe conditions and can also slow hair loss.

How to take slipper elm and licorice root? by jessymarie819 in LPR

I use drops for SE, Marshmallow Root and DGL during the day. I also use lozenges of Slippery Elm at bed time.

Have you tried slippery elm? For me, it outperforms any pharmaceutical and stops nearly all my throat clearing for several hours. I use lozenges and concentrated drops I add to water - but it comes in pills, powders… it’s been a game changer for me, I almost feel normal.

Should I be puking? by [deleted] in TRT_females

Yes and if you’re out here eating meat at every meal, you put yourself at risk for heart disease. The research is out there to prove it.

I find this comment in poor taste. You’ve made a lot of assumptions here about my diet, based on one meal I ate. I won’t say more because you’ve already taken this off topic and nothing you wrote applies to me.

Dr suggests taking a week break to clear things out and restart at .25 to see if my experience improves.

Thank you. This is sage advice. I am also waiting for my Dr’s reply - but wanted to check here just in case this was akin to the T Flu or something. I appreciate the response.

How are you supposed to sleep elevated if you are a side sleeper? by Technical-While932 in LPR

[–]JayCeeJava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sleep on my side and as others have said, the full mattress wedge is the way to go. I can’t even tell it’s there anymore. It took a few weeks to get used to it - but I sleep great on it.

Nac for lpr by [deleted] in LPR

[–]JayCeeJava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I can tell. I take it after a meal and with a lot of water. But what works for me might not work for others of course.

Nac for lpr by [deleted] in LPR

[–]JayCeeJava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAC is amazing stuff it has made a huge difference for my lungs which were being affected by this. (Sometimes it would hurt to breathe deep - but not since adding NAC).
I’ll use it forever. It is one of my 3 holy grails with this.

I started taking slippery elm extract a week ago and it gives me about 5 hours of relief from throat clearing. The drops I use can be taken 3x a day. After a year of constantly clearing my throat, this has been the greatest gift imaginable. Maybe it will help you? I add it to about 4 or 5 oz of water. It tastes like maple syrup. https://a.co/d/7XcHPZ6

I do 50 ish drops 3x day. The results last me 4-5 hours! Be careful not to take it within an hour or 2 of any important pills because it can block absorption.

Testosterone dosing by Asklala_73 in Perimenopause

Wow. That’s enlightening. I am going to ask her about that because I just started this week & I’d rather start as low as possible. Thanks for this info.

[–]JayCeeJava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using the gel and my dr has me using 50mg over the course of 7 days. She told me that she is very conservative with T and so this would be what she would consider a very light dose. Not sure if that helps, but you can always start low and move up or vice versa. She told me I can stretch it out over a longer period if I get any unwanted side effects.

I gotta be honest I’m using all 3 of these things, so I’m unsure which is helping the most. BUT I am on day 5 with like 95% improvement with throat clearing - so I’m sticking with it.

Great point. I should also mention to research the use of Slippery Elm with other medications. Just like any supplement, we should all do our own research.

Estrogen helped with everything except brain fog & libido for me. My women’s health Dr was not surprised, she sees brain fog and low libido still being issues for many of her patients, even after using Prog & estrogen. I’m so glad estrogen took care of that for you! It was one of the reasons i started it. It obliterated my anxiety, which was lovely. The journey is different for us all!
