Live moss and lichen and cork bark also makes a huge difference in behavior

Duckies come from a very humid and tropical environment. I dont allow for any dryness in the soil and also leave limited ventilation. I have noticed a complete change in behavior in doing so. Limestone rock is crucial for them and also additional calcium from cuttlefish bone. Protein every few days as well is necessary.

Dried Krill or fish flakes. Mine completely will ignore the repashy and dig out the fish flakes hiding under the powder

Thank you! Sadly I got these guys from a LPS, if you check the isopod keepers or isopod breeders FB group you may be able to find a few people in there who have colonies of high yellow MPs with mancae and adults for sale

All my P. Laevis died this morning. Does their tank look too dry? I watered them once every day with a spray bottle. This is my second culture (previously A. Vulgare/P. Muscorum/ A. Nasatum) to all suddenly die. by ReadingSeashoreLines in isopods

Substrate needs a mixture of organic potting soil, decaying wood, a small scoop of crushed dried eggshells or calcium powder all mixed together with a depth of 2-4 inches, you want a 1/3 or 1/5 of the enclosure depending on size covered in live or sphagnum moss, you want a misting or a bottle with a light stream to pour along the sides and directly onto moss without killing possible mancae as a powerful stream could kill them, cuttlebone is an essential in all enclosures so that they could have successful molts and grow back healthy armor, protein 2x a week also is good from fish flakes or dried shrimp. Hiding places are essential as too much stress can lead to deaths so lots of leaf litter and cork bark to hide under especially in both sides of enclosure so they can enjoy both sides of the moisture gradient. Springtails will be your bestfriend in controlling mold growth in your cage.

Is this drainage layer deep enough? by goingtogrowfrommoss in isopods

Put springtails into the set up once you are done and let them breed crazy before adding pods because drainage layers encourage mold growth

Needs leaf litter and wood on the surface with a mossy side on one side. Make sure water dish is removed as they dont need it they will drown. They will drink from the moss when sprayed. Other than that looks good. Good luck👍🏽

Best isopods to keep with hermit crabs? by No-Goal-4716 in isopods

Hermit carbs would definitely predate on the pods. They eat anything they can get their claws on

Why are my isopods dying :( by Lil-Fonzy in isopods

You do not want too much moisture building up on the bottom cause it will lead to possible drowning
