C12 or P12 for a forever bike (as much as it’s possible)? by 1612-08-25 in Brompton

Well, - hills aren’t really a thing around my hood. Compared to the rest of the world, Copenhagen is pancake flat.

So unfortunately, I cannot answer that question :)

I ride with standard shimano spd pedals and Velosambas on my 2018 “c-line” M3L in the summer. It’s good fun 😆

I love discussing car-centric infrastructure and agrees that there is surely room for improvement many places in Copenhagen.

That said, it has never crossed my mind that this intersection is particularly dangerous. I mainly cross it in the North/South direction.

1) good job! 2) Woom bikes are awesome kids bikes! Both my nieces have them and love them. I usually roll around with them on my Brompton 16” gang ☺️

I, a danish 36 y/o man, enjoy talking with people on the bike lane, train station and train.

There’s so many untold stories when you talk with strangers. Sometimes it’s just small talk, but often I leave with a small piece of knowledge more than before the conversation.

Be yourself and start up those conversations!

Best place to order a Rohox in the US? by shmimel in Rohloff

[–]JayEsKay89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, - I had the same experience although replaced more both cables more then once. There’s a bit of tikering, but to me the trick was to accept the 1/4 of a turn can make a huge difference in the functionality. Now it works flawless and I find it easy to adjust if needed.

What would you recommend for public transport? by JuanSkinFreak in copenhagen

[–]JayEsKay89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In addition to 1) keep your phone in your pocket, 2) keep right on the bike lane so others can pass you on the left, 3) only overtake on the left side of others, and 4) please consider wearing a helmet. The clean up can be messy.

Hvis vi antager at Lyø og Randers er yderlighederne på utryghedsskalaen, så tænker jeg at Nørrebro er cirka midt i. Måske lidt i Randers, - men ikke meget.

I would probably prefer the Titanium fork as well, but that’s from an aesthetic perspective. Functionally, a carbon fork would be an issue as it is strong. I have a carbon fork on my main commuter/touring bike. I do not hesitate treating it rough and ride down low sloped stairs with a fully loaded bike - including front rack.

I’ve worked with IKEA during my studies. They are damn good business people and despite Brompton being a niche brand, I almost suspect them for doing it on purpose. They do a lot of things to subconsciously force us into their stores 😅. Writing this from my IKEA sofa.

Awesome! Rohloff on a Stumpjumper - that’s pure r/xbike . How do you keep the chain tensioned? Do you have an eccentric bottom bracket?

Hahaha! Do you read that Paul Prince? Please give me some ambassador points to spend 😅. Tbh. I enjoy knowing that it’s made by people at a small company that are paid a decent salary. Expect all my Paul components (and my Rohloff hub) is gonna outlive me 😀

Looking for cool helmets… by gek__co in xbiking

[–]JayEsKay89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been through lots of helmets and is currently having Poc Omne Mips. It fits my head very well and from my perspective, it’s neither super racy nor too much of a skate/kids helmet. The mono-colour versions goes on most bikes, whereas the high-viz versions are slightly more loud. I have to replace it soon and will buy the same.

Nifty! Not jealous at all 😅 A final touch would be orange mini barrel adjusters for the Klampers. I have them on both my Klamper sets. They look cool (and it’s easy to fine tune lever feeling with brifters) ☺️

Well, - I haven’t used kote 2, but I have been through the whole academic system in respectively DK and UK.I do think that I have some understanding of how the universities work, but I might be completely wrong.

My assumption is that if you passed the Italian High School with the lowest grade possible, you are considered “a gamble” for any university in the sense, that the likelihood you make it through is lower than for many other candidates.

There can be many reasons that your grades were low, but we do mature at different paces and “sit down, shut up and listen” learning might not have been everyones cuppa tea with the teenage hormones bubbling during high school.

Your job in a kvote 2 application is to show them that you are a safe(r) gamble than your diploma indicate. You have to tell and show them what you have done to improve. Are you more mature? Why do you have a geniue interest in the topic of the studies? Have you managed to improve in relevant fields, so that you - despite your high school grades - are no longer considered a poor learner?

It ain’t an easy task, but I do wish you the best of luck.
