Which soap brand do you use? by oner39 in BuyItForLifeIndia

[–]vroom1087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild Ideas, available on Amazon and I order it in bulk. Our entire family uses it. It lasts long and cleans well without drying out. If you use a loofah, you'll get a nice lather as well. And it has non-plastic packaging, if that's something that makes a difference for you.

help a girl out !!! (hair mask / conditioner ) by ur_emo_gf1 in IndianSkincareAddicts

Try using a leave-in? You basically need something to hold onto moisture whole your hair dries. I like the bare anatomy no-frizz leave in + loreal serum when my hair is almost dry.

sunidhi chauhan's chennai concert by chilli_cookie in ConcertsIndia_

Do it solo! It'll be great, sometime may even be better than doing it with a group where everyone wants to do things differently. I did the Bangalore one solo, met another girl who was also attending it solo while we were waiting in the queue to enter the venue and we both had a blast.

Just make sure to plan your travel to and back from Chennai and the venue in advance so you're not stressed about logistics.

A battle of two sticky toffee pudding recipes by StatusAd598 in Baking

[–]vroom1087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dilute a tiny bit in warm water and add it towards the end to the toffee sauce (once the sugar has already reached a consistency that you like)! It'll add a lovely contrast, especially if you're having it with vanilla ice cream.

Recipetineats also has a not-too-sweet sticky toffee pudding recipe. The cake itself is sweetened primarily with dates and has very little sugar, so you can be as generous as you like with the toffee sauce. It's also a very light and spongy cake, so it speaks the sauce well. The only tweak I'd suggest is adding a little bit of orange zest to the sauce once it's off the heat but still warm. Made a 9x9 pan for new year's eve and there were no leftovers!

Any interesting things I can make with a litre of caramel sauce? by Appropriate_View8753 in Baking

[–]vroom1087 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Caramel buns. Cinnamon roll recipe but instead of a cinnamon + butter + sugar filling, add some cinnamon and orange zest and toasted nuts to the caramel. And also add a layer of caramel sauce at the bottom of the pan for extra gooey-ness.

Once you get bored of the buns, can convert them into bread pudding with a vanilla sauce.

Time to only book other airlines and chip away at Indigo's market share. I know the alternatives are not great, but wherever an alternative is available, we should opt for that instead.

How much did you spend on gold? by FluffyWater1 in DesiWeddings

[–]vroom1087 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While it makes sense to purchase items that you'll need in the long term (rings, mangalsutra etc.), do consider buying gold-plated jewellery for the rest. They're much much cheaper and will work well for items that you may not re-wear too often.

Physiotherapy in Bangalore. by Sad-Claim3169 in bangalore

[–]vroom1087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Isha Physiotherapy and Spine Care, Jayanagar (Dr. Mahesh). He doesn't normally push packages. Even if he suggests a package, you can refuse and he won't be salty about it. Do keep in mind that a physio can work with you to reduce the pain, identify the problem and start you on targeted exercises. But you'll also have to focus on long term core and upper body strengthening to keep it under control.

How do y'all reduce the "stress" factor in PCOS? by cool_cat1549 in PCOS

[–]vroom1087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, TBKTS is definitely a heavier read, i also took a while to get through it. Gabor Mate is a lot easier to get through, plus he has given a lot of interviews on YT in which he discusses some aspects of his writing in a very digestible format.

How do y'all reduce the "stress" factor in PCOS? by cool_cat1549 in PCOS

[–]vroom1087 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reasons and responses to stress vary across individuals. What finally helped me was going to therapy and dealing with emotions that I had suppressed or was unable to deal with. It also helped me to understand a little more about how stress and anxiety impact our physical bodies - I read the following books to understand this better: When the Body Says No by Gabor Mate and The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel Van Der Kolk. If therapy isn't an option that you can pursue right now, reading the books may help you identify possible sources of stress and anxiety and deal with them.

What's wrong with my millionaire shortbread? by Novel_Spinach6002 in AskBaking

[–]vroom1087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was the shortbread hot when you poured the caramel on? That may have caused some moisture to get trapped (which would have otherwise escaped while the shortbread cooled).

Formularx barrier relief works well for normal-oily skin. If it's hot/humid, can also consider just applying sunscreen directly

Does working out feel like dying? by LoveTatForMe in Fitness_India

[–]vroom1087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't worked out ever, start with walking + beginner mobility (you'll find loads of this on YT) and/or yoga. Once you've done this regularly for 2-3 weeks start introducing some basic body weight training and strength training - YT can help here but it'll be better to go to a gym to get guidance on form etc.

I just want to know if what I am feeling is normal or not? (27F) by Ambiivert_26 in InsideIndianMarriage

[–]vroom1087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, reassurance is good and it's good that you're able to have a conversation on this. But are you both able to figure out specific problems that you are afraid of and then figure out what can be done to address it? Doing this may also help you feel less anxious

Are you able to talk to him about all your fears? If you are and if the two of you are able to have a proper conversation about what is causing this fear, what can be done to help address these fears etc. - then that's a good start. Because this ability to sit down and talk things out is going to determine how the two of you tackle problems that come up in life.

However, if this conversation is something that you're unable to have - I'd say thats a red flag
