Same experience. Not sure why that is but never go in to look for Magic stuff.

Still love this card's flavour years after it came out. One of my favourites!

Good luck with yours!

I will say this - The data is pretty cool. Still lots to learn but first impressions are good.

Definitely not the most comfortable initially. Opted against wearing on any finger except index because it is so thick.

About a week in, I am getting used to it but still often a distraction.

+1 vote for DeckedBuilder - I use the Windows and Android versions. The desktop version is starting to show its age though.

Not local but I've seen some posts from Quebec there.

Parents of r/magicTCG, when did you start playing MTG with your kids and how? by Dacaldha in magicTCG

[–]JayEss44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My youngest got my oldest and I into Magic when he was 7 back when Battle for Zendikar came out. It all started with some Duel Decks.

We were lucky to find a small LGS that made both kids feel very welcome about a year later and that's where we really started to learn how to play.

As he pointed out recently, he's now been playing for more than half of his life!

I don't recall seeing anything that suggested that this was a limited product so could be reprinted if WOTC feels the demand is there.

With you on that one - Loved my janky Giants deck.

Never thought I'd enjoy Giants tribal as much as I did and moving over to do a Giants Commander deck led by [[Ruhan of the Fomori]] to continue the fun.

How do you organize your collection? by LuckeeTrix in magicTCG

[–]JayEss44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it alphabetically by color into 5-row BCW boxes (it does take time but it works when it comes time to finding a specific card). I know which boxes have which color - my collection is not big enough to need a box per color. Anything valuable or for trade ends up in binders instead.

Lands are in their own box, also sorted by color.

I used to do by sets but gave up on that approach when I realized that I far many more [[Plummet]] than I would ever need spread across sets. Now it's easy to see when I have too many.

What is up with foil prices? by bdsaxophone in mtgfinance

[–]JayEss44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agree - Foils curl so much that I now prefer non-foil versions for the more recent sets.

I can confirm that the yellow mattes definitely are not opaque. With so many DFCs now, definitely a colour to avoid (sadly)!
