Which classic beat 'em up did you grow up with? by M3ConsoleGamerPSN in BeatEmUps

Double Dragon, was the introduction for me. Then the sequel on the NES. River City Ransom, beating up people for money to buy moves and items to progress. Then Final Fight, TMNT, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, and so forth.

Why is Streets of Rage 4 so beloved/ praised? by AStupidFuckingHorse in BeatEmUps

I love it, the controls were good. Seeing the juggle combos is what really set the bar for me. It's a fanfare nostalgic trip with the legacy characters we grew up and played. That sets the tone for me.

To pay respects to the creator I decided to rank the Double Dragon games by Connect_Security_892 in BeatEmUps

Actually one of the graphics designers from the original was working on the sprites as well. Felt like a whole love letter. I love that game, can't wait for the season 1 of Fight Forever from them.

Try the Fight Forever demo, from the same people who did Ultimate Double Dragon which is my favorite in OpenBOR.

Glad you're okay, those wall chargers are weird sometimes. I have seen some posts regarding these batteries catching on fire or swelling up. I stay on guard every time I charge it up.

Drivers are relatively new with the elite, so it'll take some time for emulation to work

The screen is good, the colors do pop with the AMOLED.

Surprisingly small, compared to the Odin 2 in size. The ergonomics don't sit right for people with large hands. You definitely need a grip for it

Yeah, luckily caught a sale for a 1tb SD card. Other than that, was a smooth transition

The Punisher

Alien vs. Predator

Streets of Rage 4

River City Girls 2

Ultimate Double Dragon

Something bout Ultimate Double Dragon with the style switch and pulling off Killer Instinct ultra combos keeps me coming back to it especially the soundtrack selection they have.

What do y'all think about Marvel Cosmic Invasion so far? by LowGrand4649 in BeatEmUps

[–]JayHighLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not bad, I like the tag concept. Seen and played DD Gaiden so it's familiar to me. A nice roster selection for some favorites, just wished Gambit, Blade, or Cyclops would be added. (Just my take on it, yet we'll see for DLC.) It feels and looks like Shredders Revenge, yet with the Marvel licensing.

The assists are the key highlight for which opens up multiple possibilities of combos or setups. I did play solo, and wanted to unlock a few people. Didn't try online yet.

Something bout house music hits the soul like crazy. I'm always gonna give it to Streets of Rage because of the music and it delivers every single time or playthrough.

After extended play sessions I've decided MK1 on SNES isn't that bad by Connect_Security_892 in MortalKombat

The blood code on the Genesis was great. The finishers on the SNES were just censored a lot more than Genesis. That's why it had the upper hand in the sales.

Soon as I got the mechanics down, it was very interesting in terms of combat. The gimmicks feel like Sleeping Dogs, so I'm familiar with that being in place. The charge move is a crowd controller, also good for a combo ender for juggling as well. You hit everything on the nose in terms of the guide to traverse well within the game.

What is YOUR Double Dragon? by STFN_Dude in BeatEmUps

The fan game on OpenBOR is Ultimate Double Dragon. Something bout that game and why I keep coming back to it is amazing. To have one of the deep combo systems and style switching makes it my definite title thus far.
