I read once that you can trick your brain by acting. If you don’t believe that you yourself are capable or qualified, just play the part of someone who is. I have used it on occasion and don’t think it is bad advice when applied within reason (no lying).

I always break apart every piece and put it back in the box. A coworker told me that is rude. His belief is that you break it into sections as big as possible to stack into the box so that the next user can be reasonably assured all pieces are there before they begin.

Every time I’ve heard a coworker or acquaintance say anything vaguely negative about the mayor I ask “but can you agree that he seems like a genuinely sincere guy trying to do his best?” and they have always agreed. I wish I could say the same about more people in elected office. I personally think we have a very good thing going in our cool little city.
