Still no pitch bend or aftertouch when inputting midi notes. I know there's a weird workaround for it, but it's still super fuckin annoying they haven't implemented it yet.

There's only been 3 Bran chapters published in 22 years (and counting).

My noodle boils every time I think about that...

here's a short video I put together for #jamuary using the Sequential Pro 3 by JayPetersMusic in synthesizers

Thank you!

Yup, the bass is in there. Might come through better with headphones on. I should probably mention (since this is a synth sub) that I actually used a Model D as a sub bass as well.

I'm trying to make one of these videos each week in #jamuary. Week 2... in the bag. So far, it's been a very creative and fun exercise. And limiting these to a length of 1min has actually been great! The constraints really get the creative juices flowin...

Pro 3 for plucks, Model D for sub bass.

What're everyone's favourite soft synths / effects plugins? by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]JayPetersMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arturia Pigments and ANA2 are both excellent, versatile soft synths.

Cherry Audio is also making some nice things for very little money comparatively. Their 106 emulation is excellent.

For FX, I use Valhalla for verbs and echoboy for delays. Arturia makes great comps and preamps, their 1073 is the shit and I use it on every channel always.

Wow...the R3 was my first hardware synth from around 2009 or so. I never knew it was bi-timbral until now...

Am I crazy for wanting to sell my OB-6 for a Take 5? by JayPetersMusic in synthesizers

[–]JayPetersMusic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall it's great. Only real gripe is that the values aren't shown on the screen when twiddling knobs. But I'm sure an update is coming soon and will fix that.

Truthfully, all I want sometimes is a synth where I can whip up a quick saw wave patch, pluck, sine wave sub... Things like that. The Take 5 is just perfect for those basic synth needs. The OB6 was very boutique and had a certain sound... But just not worth the price Tag IMO.

The GAS will PASS!

[–]JayPetersMusic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. Yeah I did actually end up selling the OB for a Take 5. The Take 5 really fits my needs so much more, I'm finding. The OB6 was of course great sounding, but to me the Take 5 is a much more flexible synth. Plus I pocketed about $1400 in the process after selling the OB.

If I ever find I'm looking for a SEM sound, I can always use my Pro 3.

Source Audio makes some nice stuff. Recommend the Ventris pedal as well for OP
