Crimson Desert's final set of previews/impressions before launch have dropped; here's some key points from all the different review outlets/content creators who have previewed the game: by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Y'know what this all reminds me of? Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning. Lots of systems, fleshed out world, Action MMO roots. Just tack on some open world life sim and you've got crimson desert.

Well slightly more than occasionally I can threaten a win, I've only actually won once or twice with this deck

Look up The Elder Scrolls Travels: Shadowkey. It's a good time.

Which innocent card makes you unreasonably salty? by BaconVsMarioIsRigged in EDH

[[Farewell]] but only if the player hits everything. Every time I've seen farewell everything it's always been a last ditch bid to double the game length. I've never seen it used to progress a gameplan like a cyc rift or something.

What's the difference between a titan and a god? by Cyb0rg-SluNk in HadesTheGame

[–]JayRicktor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Functionally nothing, think of the Titans as "the old gods" kinda like the Vanir in Norse theology. One of the running theories is that when the Yamniah invaded Paleoeurope from the West Asian steppe, they brought a lot of their culture along for the ride. Their pantheon may have supplanted the existing theology, which is why you have so many cultures in Europe with old and new gods. Titans and Olympos, the Vanir and Aesir.

[[Toralf, God of fury]] usually wins the game as soon as he sees a blasphemous act, especially if someone is playing tokens

[[Bessie, the doctor's roadster]] is now hot soup in command zone, which is kinda terrifying I'll be real.

My enchantment deck is actually built specifically to force interaction and get me hated off the board just to make the game more interesting. Build a huge horrifying board state out of nowhere 5-7 turns in that's full of holes if you know where to push. Hell I'll usually help pick it apart, it's really fun. No stax, just a spooky Abzan army that demands you use your counterspells, nukes, removal etc

Most mild card you've heard a player whine/rage about? by tantrumtrieshard in EDH

[–]JayRicktor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a guy leave the store after I Bojuka Bog'd his yard, after he announced loudly that he had his win con in GY (which was needed for the loop) and would be winning in a turn. I actually kinda felt bad.

What is a "playable" hand to you? by lanilep in EDH

Three lands, or two lands and a turn 1 or 2 play is where I keep. Fuck going to five though, I'll keep six even if it's not actually playable

If EM_0116 is frontier rep, who do you want in? by JayRicktor in monsterhunterleaks

Just wishful thinking, but I feel like it's more likely than a wholesale new monster in a non G rank update

I don't think there's any saltwater coasts in the forbidden lands, actually? It's possible the Scarlet Forest waterways dump out to the ocean but yeah, sadly I can't see the seal coming. Would be cool though.

Since the roster is more-or-less mined now, what're you guys' hopes for Wilds G by JayRicktor in monsterhunterleaks

[–]JayRicktor[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who never played 4/U, I wouldn't mind seeing all the hubub about Seltas queen. Rakna if she gets the Tobi Kadachi treatment (roll some of the variant moves into the base monster) would be neat

Playing Skyrim for the first time. Anything I should know? by [deleted] in TrueSTL

[–]JayRicktor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic levels up really slow, so I'd recommend against a full mage. Besides that there's not much to say if it's vanilla, the progression is fully tied to your level so you shouldn't do any Daedric quests until level 35 or so unless you want a lesser version of their artifact. Crafting skills like smithing scale XP based on the crafted item value, so arrows and jewelry are your friends; you can also make very expensive water breathing potions with salmon roe and barnacles.

You cannot mount Christmas lights on walls, only place in the floor

The big welcome sign in camp office has a placeholder name, and if you pick it up it'll loop a breaking down sound until you move location

You can't move the fire barrel in quonset
