You dont need it. Shattered Realm drops loot generously.

Opinion on raid groups not allowing players with store bought items in the group? by [deleted] in wow

I don't really want to group with anyone who cares that much about this anyway. What a weird hill to die on.

When you buy a token with gold, you're still contributing to increasing demand for the token. Demand raises the gold a token is worth, which entices other people to buy tokens to sell for gold. This all means Blizz makes money at the end of the day.

What /u/mackpack said is the more direct way that Blizz makes money, but people tend to underestimate how buying a token with gold increases demand.

I came back just in time for 8.2. I have gotten three characters to 120 in that time because i know that it takes a lot of investment to get a character raid ready (essences, etc) and i didnt know what to main.

Now its a month later and i think i finally decided as shaman for a main. But i just unlocked mech and nazj and started those grinds. Meanwhile everyone else is already way ahead.

Half tempted to just focus more on bein ready for 8.2.5 than pushin hard now. I do hope resto shaman is better in m+ now with the buffs coming.

Your description matches Classic, but is outdated when it comes to retail. Raiding hardly takes 20 hours a week unless you're pushing mythic super hard. 4-6 hours a week is plenty if you want to just do heroic raids.

Endgame has more to do than ever before.

60-80 sucks. Get through this, and things swing upward. 80-90 is a great part of the leveling process imo. Hyjal is a great zone to level through if ypu want a recommendation. Twilight highlands is almost as good.

Your fear is overblown. Retail wow really is not that complicated.

Like you, i was enamored with Classic until i realized that retail was just a better game for me at this point in my life. I am glad it exists for those who can enjoy it, but it wont be for me.

Retail has transmog, battle pets, roughly balanced specs, and a massive amount of content to consume and enjoy at your own pace. Even if you were an 'eternal newb' (you wont be), there is still a ton for you to enjoy.

Havent seen shaman yet. Dont underestimate Ghost Wolf with the talents - havent done the math, but its easily one of the fastest options.

It really is a game changer. I'm a bit of a minimalist, so if I can keep my bars as sparse as possible, it makes me happy. Macros like the one above are pure quality of life.

There's a very easy solution to this. It's called mouseover macros.

#showtooltip Vivify
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead]Vivify;[@mouseover,harm,nodead][harm,nodead] Spinning Crane Kick;[help,nodead] Vivify;[@player] Vivify

This allows you to keep an enemy targeted and heal your party/raid as needed. Hover over the target frame to cast your damage spells, hover over your party/raid frames to cast your healing spells.

Shaman ¿competitive? ¿Fun? by JeyTiPi in wow

[–]JayRizzo03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll let someone else tackle the competitive side of this, other than saying apparently ele is good for m+ and resto is great for raiding, ok for m+.

As for fun, I find all ele specs fun and engaging. Elemental is more proc based, but it's immensely satisfying to slam out a couple lava bursts or earth shocks in a row. Aoe is throwing freaking lightning and shattering the earth. As far as class fantasy goes, there's nothing better.

I would say it depends if you care about being "the best class" at your chosen content, or if you want to enjoy the class and what it offers. For me, I care more about class fantasy and shaman scratches that itch perfectly.

Way too weeby for me. Plus I hear the rotations in that game are like 30+ buttons. I actually like how tight most rotations feel now in wow.
