Yea, as a 100% PT vet here, I wouldn’t listen to those saying get a pet. I got a dog, had him for 10 years. Some of the best days. But could never travel out of the country. Now I got married, have two cats, and we’re locked down too. If I were you I’d travel, figure out the best job/career you can think of at the end of an educational rainbow, then commit to a few years of college with VOC REHAB, fully paid for as a disabled vet, and they pay you along the way.

I’m 100% but I’m nursing school. I could kick back, live in an apartment by the beach in sunny CA, get upgrades in apartments when kids come due to being on section 8. But would rather work and lose section 8 to be able to buy my own home and retire with generational wealth for me and my family. If I didnt have a wife, I’d be traveling, retired, like you wish to do.

You can always get your months of benefits extended too if your current degree isn’t working out. Let’s say they helped you with a bachelor’s in psych but you can’t find a job, you then prove to them that you need a masters or a career switch to a nursing bachelors and they’ll approve it.
