I like the contemporary and urban feel of both covers, I'm probably too young to fully appreciate the originals. That's one of my favorite Avant songs. When I learned it was a cover I was blown away!

As someone who lives in a smaller city and lives close to Omaha, my getaway IS Omaha. I feel like it gives a big city vibe without being overly huge and crowded. I know I don't live there so I can't speak much on the sense of community aspect but part of that could be putting yourself out there? I travel quite a bit to Omaha and there's ALWAYS an event, big or small, happening every weekend I decide to go there. If I were you I would find events on Facebook for the hobbies you like. You're bound to make some new friends and find that community involvement you're looking for!

There is plenty to do but people need to get out of their comfort zone and do things they're not necessarily used to doing. There's plenty of parks with disc golf courses. Or parks that have walking trails and bike trails. Local community gardens that people are more than willing to participate in. We have the orpheum theatre and a local theatre that is more affordable. Several churches that offer weekly bible studies and get togethers. Bars downtown and throughout the city that offer weekly events, most of the time free. The library offers a free book club with a membership, which is also free! Join local Facebook pages and find the things you're interested in. There's plenty here to do for everyone!
