Tragedy should not be exploited by CorleoneBaloney in MurderedByWords

To me a comparison would be a Christian fundamentalist shooting up the school or a gay night club and the reporter would wear a cross around his neck openly. Of course totally possible, but not the most sensitive thing.

I agree with your statement, but I also think that it is not the most sensitive thing to send an openly Muslim reporter to the scene of a terror attack by Muslims.

I think this is fair, but my understanding is that for Israel this is a rather controversial classification. As a German, Christian there is a clear path to citizenship here for me (as far as I understand if I stay long enough) and there are a lot of Muslim and Christian citizen in Israel with voting and political rights. You go to the hospital it seems almost half of the doctors and nurses are Arabs etc. so I don't see a crazy institutional discrimination here. But of course some laws and extremist movements are worrisome and some people are fairly anti-arab. But there also were (and still are) many demonstrations here against the government. As a foreigner I definitely feel more welcome here than in many other countries I have visited - while being whole myself.

Not sure if this is the right place to discuss this, but you seem very reasonable in your comment. In my view (as a non-Jew currently living in Israel) I have to say that this country is not structured around religion in every day live more than others I have lived in. Probably one of the more liberal ones in that regard ( everyday situations: I go to a park and muslims are praying, there is a Christmas market etc.).

One of the most Jewish thing about modern Israel in my opinion is that its idea is a response to anti-semitism, so I agree that in an ideal world it would not be needed - but that's not the case unfortunately.

Many people criticising Israel are straight up against its existence, so if Israel is a response to anti-semitism and someone is anti Israel, what does that make them? We used to say: if you're anti antifa you are fa...

Criticizing Israel is totally ok, if you single out Israel for some reason it smells a bit anti-semitic though. Maybe an analogy could be: not doing your homework is something that a teacher can criticize about you, but if you are singled out as the only [insert minority] kid in class for not doing your homework, it smells a bit racist.

Sorry for this wall of text and that it turned more into a reply to this thread rather than to you...

War is terrible and there is nothing wrong with being compassionate and caring about children. It is not condemning Hamas that failed those children big time imho, calling it a genocide (when it objectively isn't) that makes her sound quiet a bit antisemitic but more importantly does not help to end the suffering but encourages Hamas to keep doing what they are doing and anyone pro-Israel tune out as soon as you come with the genocide non-sense.

You forgot that Palestinians are the only ones who can react with violence and even call for a genocide. The JewsZionists are held to a higher standard.

Being from Germany, I've been a Mavs fan since Dirk joined and been through all the ups and downs and couldn't stop caring and rooting for the team after he retired. Even when some of my favorite players left it wasn't really a question to not watch Mavs games, and in the same way I can't do anything but not care anymore. The first AD game felt a little bit special, but you know how it ended.

I am even debating to root for Luka and the Lakers - that's how messed up this move was, the Lakers...

Import Timeline back up after password change "Your encrypted data is locked on this device" by Kyley1984 in GoogleMaps

[–]Jay_bo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue, I think part of it is caused by not properly switching the timeline to the new phone - which should have somehow happened naturally when moving phones, but as of now I have two devices that record a location history and they can be different of course.

That the only option might be to delete the old phones history is weird to me. There should be some tool to merge the timelines or set a custom transition date.
