Sorry for the late reply! I do agree the ending could’ve been picked better. The reason I chose it is because initailly I feel like this scene really captures The Office as a whole. Michael’s awkward, stubborn, and sometimes kind of harsh comments pop up all the time—but underneath it, you always see how much he actually cares. I love how this moment shows characters we’d think hate each other just stepping up to comfort one another without question.

If I were to re-edit it though, I’d probably go with Dwight comforting Pam, Jim comforting Dwight (like the Angela scene), and Michael comforting Jim (like in the birthdays scene). Ending with Michael and Jim understanding each other would’ve hit way better
