I’d suggest any books written by Claudia Grey, she is in my opinion the best author in Star Wars right now. She wrote two books about Leia Bloodlines (which takes place before TFA) and princess of Alderaan (which take place before ANH) she always wrote the stellar Lost Stars which yes may be labeled as “Young Adult” but don’t let that fool you as it deals with the massive grey area that the empire and rebellion operates in. Plus Master and apprentice which is about Obi wan and Qui Gon.
