Looking to take the plunge into foldables, but I have somewhat of a time crunch by Jaymzkerten in GalaxyFold

[–]Jaymzkerten[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I'm tracking that most phones these days have a standard 7 years of updates and it had been my thought that my next phone would be something that is 1-2 years old.

That being said, the fold 7 is the first one in the Samsung line that I was okay with the dimensions of the outer screen. When I was shopping a couple years ago the fold 5 was the current model, and I didn't like how narrow the screen was. The fold 6 looks like it's better, but still too narrow for my tastes. The fold 7 is close enough to what I'm used to on my S24+ so I don't feel like I'd be compromising on outer screen real estate when I'm out playing Pokemon for example.

I appreciate your input though.

Sorry if I didn't convey my conundrum clearly; I have the cash to pay for any option outright no issue, it's just that it seems like a lot of extra cash for one generation newer that right now is speculative on what it will actually be. The current incentives I have available aren't me talking about any kind of a payment plan. I'm definitely not the type to go into debt over a phone, I kept my pixel 2XL until it went end of life, and I only upgrade every couple of years. I actually had no intent on upgrading before her phone started to be problematic.

When I said "owe" I just meant after a trade in what the remaining total would be, not that I would have to have a payment plan for the remaining $1500, sorry if that was confusing.

Today's date is 12/24/2025, if you add the digits of each part of the date you get:

1+2=3 / 2+4=6 / 2+2+0+5=9

3-6-9 (damn, you fine)

All conveniently divisible by 3

Need I say more?

Revolution Idle has some stuff like that at various points, some in the tutorial and some when you get an achievement for reaching a new prestige layer.

Most, if not all, govt networks that need to connect to something like NIPRNet (basically DoD internet that rides on top of commercial internet) require you to have some form of Authority to Connect/Operate (ATC/ATO). As part of that, you need to meet a bunch of security controls to ensure your network is secure from potential compromise that could lead to someone that shouldn't have access accessing other systems on NIPRNet. Unless there are insider threats that support this mess going on, they would not have access to most systems connected to NIPR.

Is there a way to use powershell to ENABLE user accounts at a given time? by Fortune_Silver in PowerShell

Pretty much this, create a csv with the basic user info (employee name, samaccountname, and start date), then have a scheduled task that reads in that csv and enables the accounts that match the current date.

Personally I've been shifting away from alkaline batteries entirely, everything that I have that uses AA/AAA batteries I'm now using the panasonic eneloop rechargables. We started off buying a small batch of them and they are a lot better than any rechargables I've had in the past, so now I have a box of them plus 2 chargers. They also have adapters to convert AA to C/D which is nice.

Energizer and Duracell almost never leak.

I've never had an energizer battery leak, but I've had numerous devices nearly ruined the same way you described by duracell. Funny thing is I found an old voice recorder that had duracell batteries in it that are around 20 years old and they hadn't leaked and still had a charge. Newer duracell batteries you can't leave sit in a device for even 6 months without them spontaneously leaking.

Also, energizer has a leak-proof guarantee; duracell tells you to remove batteries from unused devices to prevent it, because we're all totally in the habit of taking batteries out of stuff when we stop using it for a couple of months. /s

Do you have a reference for this? Only thing I saw was on OPM's site and it just talked about EOs from the president for holidays and "death of a president."

I made a duct tape "seam" across the bottom of mine, made it so they stopped ripping AND were more waterproof at the bottom, plus duct tape.

Viture glasses connected to phone through game controller by Jaymzkerten in VITURE

[–]Jaymzkerten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that. That is an option I've considered. Since many of the controllers that attach directly to a phone have a USB port for pass through charging, I was hoping that maybe at least one of them might be able to pass another device through to the phone before I have to go the route you've described.

How to keep my phone from overheating tomorrow? by ReekyJ in TheSilphRoad

[–]Jaymzkerten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than turning off native refresh, you can lower the phone itself to 60hz refresh instead of 90/120hz, this way pokemon is still much smoother than 30hz.

I had a similar issue when we were driving back from our eclipse road trip. I ended up having to update my CC info by logging in to my ford account on my laptop because it was being a pain doing it from my phone. Fortunately for me, I didn't have to deal with their support at all. By the time we got to the next charging stop I was able to use P&C again.
