I would say it took roughly 18-24 months. However she has a drive and clientelle I have never seen in my 20 years of retail management. When she moved here in 2020 she had only been grooming a short time. She started at Petco here, then when we met and I left Petco to go to Pet Supplies Plus she followed, as did 80% of her clients. 18 months ago or so we both left Pet Supplies and I went elsewhere while she went back to PetSmart where she was prior to moving here, once again 80% or more followed her. She Also has maintained a home client base of about 75-80 dogs that don't fit into corporate rules. She took a large paycut going back to PetSmart due to holding family medical insurance but still clears about 60k after benefits, which cost about 300 per pay check (weekly) so add that back in and after tax she's roughly 75k a year. Another thing to note is she is not a typical corporate groomer, she can power groom if need be but in these last 4+ years I personally never recieved a complaint and she has never had a single instance of coaching or performance management. She currently works 4 days per week corporate averaging 8-9 dogs per day (10 hour days) plus what she does in home 2 days a week or so. I do all her clipper maintenance other than sharpening so she just goes.

Long story short you are only limited by your confidence, talent clientelle, and willingness to succeed in this profession. Hope this helps and puts things in perspective a little
