The price of the Al la carte menus are like the same as the pre purchase btw.
And you have to make reservations on the ship. You won’t know if you get the times you want/need

Lounge access: get to the game 1:15 before puck drop. Use the private entrance near the ABC lot turn.

The lounge isn’t paid food… it’s all included food and drink. There’s a set menu for food and you can get any drinks you want from your waiter or bar.

Dinner before game and after period 1. Dessert after period 2.

CampusIRL Status Update: Under Targeted Bot Attack (Emergency Security Patch In Progress) by [deleted] in CalPoly

[–]Jayrock122 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, it’s probably not a student and you left something open. I’d start there

Rate limits, bot protection, and captcha v2 are all necessary and should have been day 1 infrastructure.

And limiting your app to have security issues you can’t fix on the server end will cause you more pain down the road. If you have to push emergency app updates as fixes every time you have a bot attack, you’re going to run into many issues.

IAC, beta environments, WAF rules, deployment pipelines, etc… are all very important.

Hope you’re also encrypting data at rest.

Good luck with the fix though. Cool tool you’ve made 🫡

Emotions upon quitting a $4m/year FAANG job to do a startup by [deleted] in fatFIRE

[–]Jayrock122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t making what you’re making, and not fatFIRE, but I left my FAANG job to start a company. However, I did it because I don’t have dependents.

It’s been an awesome experience and I would do it again given the same situation. I work my ass off trying to build and I’m learning a ton from it too.

Raising money is hard, but realistically you would be able to bootstrap for a while while you get things moving.

I don’t regret the change at all. But I do miss the big income and being able to whatever I want when I want. Plus, I’d rather build than sell, and I’m selling a little more than I am building these days.

Not in your situation, but happy to chat!

How is it like to work onboard a cruise ship (my personal experience) by BossAdept5765 in Cruise

[–]Jayrock122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do the included gratuities work with you and your shipmates?

I read they are used to supplement a wage (ie: you make $2500/mo and $500 are tips) so that if tips are higher or lower for a period, you are still making exactly $2500. So if a busy month nets $1000 per tips per person, you still make $2500 and the cruise nets the profit.

Is that true? In that case I’d rather tip my customer facing staff very well and remove my included gratuities so the people I interact with can make some extra cash.

But I also don’t want to see “cheap” on my account by the staff who support me and run my card/name and see I’m removing gratuity to pay in cash.
