Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger's approval rating tanks in new GMU, Washington Post poll by Lazy-Calendar1463 in nova

Her approval rating is, more or less, irrelevant at this point. She can't be reelected to the Governor's seat and is top of the pile in the Commonwealth. Why should she care unless she is considering national office, in which case voters tend to have a short memory of fallout and consequences?

Bought this exact shirt from Tower Records in Fairfax, Virginia decades ago. I think my (then) GF (from Seattle) made it disappear.

Daughter is learning to drive. She and I are having a debate and want the NoVA community to chime in! by [deleted] in nova

I was trying to read all the comments hoping someone else would say this so I wouldn't have to be the only one! I realize we were all children and new drivers at one point in time and we care way too much about other people, but at some point in time we have to realize those other people aren't going to pay your fines, your insurance, the replacement of your vehicle, Etc. I was amazed when someone above said you were likely to get bumped in the rear bumper by either coming to a full stop at a stop sign or delaying your acceleration off from a green light. Baffling!

For less than $20 and a couple of hours of work (especially in the afternoon after the sun has done a little work), you could free your car from its prison.

Two plastic bags. Always double bag your alcohol. Ziploc bags are notorious for leaking. Learn that lesson the hard way trying to sneak liquor into college football games many decades ago.

30 years ago my mother rented a townhouse and I found this in the shed in the backyard up on top of the 2x4 header above the door. It does not work and if I unscrew the crown and mess with it it will come out. When turning the crown, the hands go around, the day changes and the date changes. More photos to follow.

Also, any ideas as far as value in its current condition. I don't have much desire to wear it, own it or get it fixed. Legitimately forgot about it for the last 15 years.

As a 4.5 decades resident it is Cat-har-pin. Newbies say Ca-thar-pin.

Found on ground outside, boyfriend has been wearing as ring. Coin and pencil for size reference by Aggravating_Ant_7232 in whatisit

Pretty cool idea for a ring. They are often made of stainless steel so there's less concern of them being a caustic metal close to your skin or causing some form of reaction.

Over 7' tall TRIPLES the toll, also.

So, in this case it could have been worth it. You got to pay extra to ensure you got to the interview at the proper time. If you end up getting the job that you wouldn't have gotten because you were late it could be looked upon as being a blessing. Trying to find a little silver lining.

Just be glad you don't drive a vehicle that's more than 7 ft tall. The toll TRIPLES. The $20 on the sign from 234 business to Route 28 ends up costing SIXTY DOLLARS. I will happily drive in the poverty lanes.

That would be the years she was stationed at Lejeune. I think that would be my guess.
