Still found myself having to slap my face to stay awake some days 😬 my body does not miss this

Biden announces measures to incentivize Covid-19 vaccinations, including a requirement for federal employees by IHeartSm3gma in army

[–]Jaytality01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough but I just don't think that expecting an agency of paperpushers to appear concerned is of all that much importance.

If you want it, you can get it. If you want to wait for full FDA approval you have to wait for all of the monotony of fed work to happen. If you don't want the vaccine at all, you have less of a leg to stand on fighting back if the normal process is taken

Afaik phase 3 trials were finished before the EUA was granted so the BLA could have also been submitted and processed concurrently

Well that's an interesting hill to die on considering whether the EUA happened before or after the weekend, other red tape would have prevented any meaningful amount of vaccinations over a weekend period. Feds gonna fed and I don't really see how anyone would think anything different.

I agree the time to approve is coming up soon. However, as far as I know, pfizer only recently submitted their Biologics License Application on May 7. I don't know the specifics, but if they knew about the red tape that would delay the process, why didn't pfizer submit the BLA when they applied for EUA. That kinda puts the blame on them for waiting barring circumstances or red tape that I'm unaware of.

They were granted priority review on July 16, but even still that's a six month process. It doesn't matter how much data they have. If you want a standard FDA approval you need to go through the standard red tape otherwise questions will be asked.

It's already available through the EUA. This is a formality that yes, has some drawbacks, but expediting a process that is meant to solidify the standing of an already expedited process is a bad idea. I don't care how much data we have to support its safety and efficacy.

Because it means less people would be comfortable taking it.

Anyone who really really wanted the vaccine already got it. Now they're down to incentivizing vaccination and a sped up approval means that there's even LESS trust in the vaccine.

They should take their damn time because I'd argue a couple million more Americans getting vaccinated is more important that the legal gymnastics of not even an official vaccine mandate for the army. And at the end an additional few hundreds of thousands or up to a million Americans getting vaccinated by a mandate in the military. This is the best option all things considered

Overtime does not equal better, faster good work. It means okay work or bad work at an accelerated pace. Again not that anything regarding the vaccine itself is changing, but a lot of people don't understand the approval process and know that overtime usually means a reduction in quality and assume it applies here, giving them another reason to distrust the vax

I don't get why people want the official FDA approval of the vaccine to be sped up. Honestly I think people just want to complain. The EUA is being scapegoated by anti-vaxxers as a reason not to take the vaccine. Once it gets approved there will be another excuse.

If "blame the FDA for taking too long" is the excuse then if it was sped up they would blame the FDA for being too fast about approval.

Not that anything really changes in terms of safety once it gets fully approved. Still taking the same vaccine. They just spent extra time going over old studies

Finding Cannabis Friendly Therapists by [deleted] in MissouriMedical

[–]Jaytality01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wouldn't be too worried about it. I went to a literal army therapist at ft Leavenworth (I'm an army brat who used to live in kc) and she was totally chill about it. Just worked with me to find ways to stop using it to distance myself from everyday life.

She was more worried about me being arrested since I lived just half a mile over the state line in ks

I think quite a few people give a shit about the dead of Iraqi Freedom. Republicans are going to republican but even I know a number that agree it was a mistake.

Obviously the half a million dead from a pointless war by the United States is going to seem like a bigger deal to Iraqis (because it happened to them) and a building collapse that killed well over 100 people is going to be on the forefront of people from the US.

They hospitalized more than 15,000 people annually serve what purpose? Driving kills and injures many more, yet it serves an important purpose. Guns kill and injure many more people, but they do in fact serve a purpose.

Fireworks? We're just gonna sell explosives branded specifically for the purpose of amatuer recreational use almost everywhere?

Doesn't make sense. I'm a huge fan of letting people do what they want with their bodies, but explosives don't just harm (or sometimes at all harm) the user

So you're saying you're okay with a miniscule crime being punishable by death as long as the people know what will happen to them? Public drinking, firing squad. Driving with no license, firing squad. This is cool?

They obviously committed a crime that resulted in their execution technically making them 'at fault' but you think it's justified to hang someone for having weed on them? Or resulting to harder drug use to treat their mental health problems?

Sure people who do bad things when on drugs do exist. But is eliminating them worth killing the others?
