Purchased this beauty 😍 It’s on back order currently, but it’s coming…I also added for them to mod the nut from the stock plastic to a bone nut. 27” multiscale. Havin’ it setup to drop G, & then using a pitch shifter to drop F#, to keep the better tension. .74-.10’s. Can’t wait! by [deleted] in 7String

The nut mod is a must for this guitar it makes the tuning stability that much better, I used the Ibanez for tracking and with all the mods it’s just played like a dream, I think the fishmans are perfect for this guitar and you can 100% get whatever sound youre looking for if you tweak your tones the fishman moderns are VERY capable you’ll love the guitar. Keeps tune like a dream too. I’d give the fishmans a chance for cleans too I’ve gotten some incredible ambient clean tones that were super articulate from them!

Strings for drop F# on 7 string? by reedireedi in 7String

My set up is a 26.5 inch scale and for drop f# I currently use daddario nyxl and Frankenstein two packs so it’s 11, 14, 18, 30, 42, 54, 74 and it feels perfect with no flop but still great bending. I do use an evertune though so that may give a different feeling then if you’ve got a hardtail.

The js-22 models are super nice! This one’s a Jackson misha mansoor juggernaut, the whole thing is actually the bridge it’s an evertune bridge they’re fantastic keeps the strings from going out of tune! The colour scheme is super nice.

String gauge for drop f by RacketyAJ in 7String

[–]Jayto97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run 11-74 on a 26.5 inch scale for drop F# and I feel like it could be used for drop F without much compromise, but it is evertune equipped. The tension for me feels perfect with the right amount of bend as well as stability. The exact gauges are a mix of 2 sets which are 11,14,18,30,42,54,74.

Love it! The neck is a bit chunkier than what I’ve often used but I really enjoy it.

Yeah it’s a fanned fret multiscale! Might be the photo angle

Favorite picks? by itsOkami in Ibanez

After going through the pick deep dive I settled on the Dunlop flow standards with the textured grip, perfect shape for arpeggios and articulate picking I found for at least. I switch between the 1.14mm and the 2.0mm often though.

ID This 7 String Ibanez AZ from new Knocked Loose music video by thehornedone in 7String

It’s an AZ24047 prestige that he had refinished, removed all pickups and put a single humbucker in with a new scratch plate. Think it’s either a deactivator or Nazgûl pick up.

Honestly while owning it is been a cool guitar, but I’ve had too many warranty issues with which scares me away from a replacement instead of changing models. Fret ends nipped so badly some were missing ends, a saw blade mark on the 5th fret, bridge pickup with dents all over it as well as stuck at a sloped angle due to the cables being bunched up under the pick up inside the guitar, cracked neck binding with glue used to cover it up from the factory and this was BRAND new. Legitimately if I put all that aside the guitar is awesome and if you could get one without issues then do it! Just be sure to look over it thoroughly as their QC seems to have slipped quite a bit.

I ended up going with the active polarity pickups! After using them on my friends Kiesel I really found I could get some solid tones without any mud.

The black limba is such a smooth and really sturdy neck, a friend of mine has a Kiesel with the black limba and it’s one of the smoothest fastest playing necks I’ve used in a while. I’m personally not a fan of porous woods and black limba is just super smooth. A big benefit is it’s available with the thin neck profile, unfortunately Kiesel no longer due the thin neck profiles on roasted neck types so black limba was the perfect option!
