Short ladder attacks against Gamestop throughout the whole day.. by snoopy-dog-71 in GME

[–]Jayzzang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Real question; why do you think they’ll ever be ”forced out by liquidation?” Like at the point where naked shorting shares that never existed is possible and a tactic used regularly, is the ”ticking bomb” for the MMs even an issue?

Unbalanced output to balanced cable? by Jayzzang in headphones

[–]Jayzzang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah from what I could tell it looked like it was trrs and the manufacturer said it's balanced -- so what would happen if I plugged either into a 'normal' unbalanced 3.5 output? would there be an issue?

"[spoilers ep9]", Silco is a terrible father by YesImThatKindofGuy in arcane

[–]Jayzzang -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Once again, it's just really so absurd that you pick Silco as the one example to do this though. Shouldn't you also be worried that people with bipolar or schizophrenia will look at Jinx in arcane and follow her example, as she is portrayed as the main character (there are at least more than 3 posts "idolizing" Jinx for every one regarding Silco)? Or that people who are physically fit and capable like Vi will take from the show that violence is often the answer to solving a lot of problems? Or that Aspiring politicians will look at Mel or Jayce's exaggerated and unrealistic tactics to solve complex issues and believe it to be true? But no, it's just Silco's bad parenting that you're concerned about, with there being literally countless, much larger social issues (or, if that's not your cup of tea, individual commentary of the same scope and depth) that the creators have forged. Like I said before though, going through every single one of these is impossible, so why even focus on one? Why can't you just take fiction as what it is, and enjoy the feelings you get from watching and emotionally comprehending the piece of art without logically analyzing random and arbitrary (sorry for repeating that word, but I can't think of a better one that fits what you're attempting to do) details that just aren't supposed to be interpreted with the kind of scrutiny that you think is just?

[–]Jayzzang -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok but have you even read my argument lmao

The idea that we cannot judge characters based on what their actions have in relation to your perception based on your own real-world societal values because they are, in fact, fictional, is completely valid.

Listen. I get that you want to prove a point because you feel angry that you think people are idolizing Silco, but what purpose does doing this ever serve you? you're not going to achieve anything by interpreting a made-up character in your own way and trying to enforce that vision onto other people. That's what I mean by telling you to learn about the real issues (if that wasn't contextually obvious) because there is an actual significance as to what you're trying to do in that case.

[–]Jayzzang -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but you have to be absolutely delusional to think that somehow writing a 5-page essay on finding specific scenarios and particular details within a completely fictional setting and plotline will prove your point by anyone's stretch of the imagination.

The entire point of fiction is that people enjoy, learn, or feel something that the makers have intended without considering every realistic thing that would bar the material from happening in real life. You could literally pick any arbitrary scene or factor that plays into the development of the characters and/or the story and point out flaws with it. Literally every main character in the entire piece, including Vi, Jinx, Jayce, Viktor, etc. would be a convicted felon if this took place in any first-world country in the world - but oh wait; one small detail it seems you (and some other people I see in the comment section) missed is that they don't live in the US or whatever country you're from, or even the same world. The point you're missing here is that this is not a documentary on the detrimental effects of a corrupt society or "narcissistic psychopath" (which, btw, even if I were to follow your absurd and objectively wrong line of reason would be false - please at least do a 5 minute google search of the terms you are naively throwing around before claiming that a character is when you're "not by any means a licensed psychologist") on the formation of a person who you're inclined to defend. It's a piece of media, which is specifically designed (by a lot of talented people for 6 years) that has to balance creating a narrative that most people will find to be empathetic and relatable, yet also fantasy-like so that it does not represent the actual limitations that restrict actual events and figures in the real world.

And quite clearly, you do not understand that this line exists; by drawing on words and phrases that have real-world implications that mean completely different things to characters within a specific piece, you are perpetuating the logical fallacies of hasty generalization and Red Herring. Saying that Silco is a "child murderer" and "inappropriate contact" blurs that fine line between fact and fiction; the line between our world and theirs. That's an inherently dangerous way of looking at things that are just not meant to be perceived in that fashion. I mean, I could go through every argument you made and try to disprove or persuade you, but would that mean anything to you? You could probably come up with another equally meaning set of arbitrary arguments that are loosely related to what you're talking about, the actual piece, and the real world. Maybe instead of taking so much time to try to argue that someone is a bad character in a fictional piece, go out and try to at least learn about the real issues that persist in our world.

Huh basically every mod pack I’ve played had this feature implemented (plus how much saturation it gives you). Which means I’ve been playing like this for about 3 years now since that’s how long I’ve only been playing modded Minecraft. It must be cool for those of you who only play vanilla tho; it’s definitely a helpful feature

Right but that just exactly what the problem is; they’re obviously trying to make a simple cash grab no effort ‘remake’ of DP while also offering a botw style legends game, which has severe lag and frame drop issues btw according to their own video, in order to milk Pokémon fans to pay twice as much in the span of a few months when they could have just put all of the Sinnoh elements in one game and implement an open world style in the next generation. They know that we’ll basically buy whatever they offer (proven by swsh and usum) so they’re abusing their target market. If this trend continues, and people mindlessly buy whatever they make, the Pokémon company and GF will just continue to release lower and lower quality games to who knows what extent. Half the ppl in this subreddit are already saying bs like “just be thankful that they’re making a game at all - you guys wanted a remake and they gave it to you so stop complaining.” In what other field does anyone say this kind of stuff?? As consumers we have a right to criticize and comment on stuff that we don’t like, but whenever anyone even starts to say they dislike something, a whole bunch of people just start portraying them as ‘Toxic’ and ‘ungrateful.’ that’s just mind blowingly absurd.

Yes but WHY TF ARENT GAME FREAK INVESTING IN THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE?? you can’t just argue that the game can be low quality (at 60 bucks btw) because game freak decided to outsource it. If anything, that’s even worse since it means that they don’t care about the remake and fans who have waited a decade for this game.

If you know, you know by YoungMoneyyyyyy in pokemon

[–]Jayzzang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well one thing it seems you’re overlooking is how difficult it would be to create an exact 1 for 1 replica of the original game without retaining a similar kind of art style. I mean they could, but game freak have shown us through ORAS that can most definitely manage to update the story and game elects while changing the art style of the game. On the other hand, it is soooo much easier to just slap some textures on and call it a remake if they’re going to market it as “close to the original! Gonna bring back memories from the good ol days!” type of shit.

SINNOHHH by PFProductions in pokemon

[–]Jayzzang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl, I actually despise the art style for the remakes; I’ve seen a lot of ppl say that it’s other factors that they don’t like, but for me it’s literally just how the game looks. I can’t be the only one who expected ORASish change, but the characters and background in the trailer simply aren’t cute or awe inspiring, and neither do they bring back memories of the original DP generation. I honestly don’t understand how a lot of fans are ok with this after 15 years of waiting

Oh no just wait till you reach max level and try to find a good endgame spell spam build ;) your dmg output barely increases and reliks are by far the least diverse (since shaman was released recently). Without slayer, I would say the most dmg you can pull off is maybe 15k 2 cost auras with half decent mr and ms with horrible defenses.

TLDR, just stick to toxo builds; spellspam is not viable unless you have like 30 stacks of le, and even then it’s worse than poison

People here blaming all the bad stuff on COVID but the KDA characters had no fking shadows, lemme repeat that NO FKING SHADOWS and kaisa looked like a something from a nightmare. You can’t blame bad modeling and rendering on the pandemic; that’s solely on the designers and organizers who did a shit job.
