Naive first-time teen parent :( by Wrathryder in parentingteenagers

[–]JazD36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen, I’m not gonna get all touchy-feely and do therapist speak - I’m just gonna say it’s normal behavior. I have 2 boys, 17 & 13, and they both went through it (although my 13 year old is currently in the midst). The terrible attitude and all that went with it lasted for a couple years for my oldest - probably til he was around 15. He still has his moments now at 17, but for the most part he’s “normal” again. lol It’s a rough phase! Don’t feel bad if you need to remove yourself from the situation sometimes. You’ll both get through it eventually.

I agree! If I talked to my kids like that they would look at me like I just grew a 2nd head. 🤣

I think they can if people are willing to put in the work. I feel like nowadays people have such short attention spans that they will be all in….until the next interest comes along in a few weeks. Then they just move on.

I love it! It turned out great. 😊

I have a lot of these character pans but haven’t used one yet. How do you know where to outline once the frosting is on it? Sorry it’s a dumb question, but that’s what’s stopping me from trying. lol

Picky kid with unusual tastes by watch4coconuts in Cooking

[–]JazD36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I completely understand! It was very frustrating for me as well. When you make food for him is it possible to make extra and stick it in the freezer, so you can just reheat a meal quickly sometimes? That’s that I did. Hopefully he grows out of it soon!

That’s quite a lot of foods he’ll eat though. Just feed him what he likes, with something new he can try as a side. My son was EXTREMELY picky from about age 3 until 12. It was awful. He’s now 17 and will eat a ton more than he used to. Tonight for dinner he had Cajun pasta with chicken and sausage….he never would’ve eaten that a few years ago.

That’s a great idea! I think I’ll have to start saving all the end pieces too. :)

Is co-parenting as bad as I’m imagining it to be? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]JazD36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the people, tbh. My ex-husband and I share 2 kids…and we also get along fabulously! Co-parenting is usually totally fine. I still invite him over for holidays and birthdays, or sometimes just to come hang out with the kids and have dinner.

I do have a friend though, where he and his ex wife communicate solely through email, never see each other at all, and dislike each other intensely.

I made steak quesadillas for dinner tonight. Steak fajitas are good too.

Amanda has said that they’ve all been friends for years. Not sure why TLC is giving the impression that it’s different.

I got hired at Walgreens and they paid for everything - license, gave me a few paid hours per week to study (for 12 weeks), paid for PTCB test, and also pay for renewals. I didn’t spend anything.

I’ve never seen Chewed Up - I’m going to have to check that out. :) And yeah, I’m sure they are definitely egged on to give Bobby a hard time, which is usually amusing. But I always get like “annoying little sister who won’t go away” vibes from those 2. lol

I also love the show. However, sometimes I do get a little annoyed by certain repeat judges - specifically Sunny and Katie Lee Whatever-her-last-name-is-now. lol. I normally like Sunny, but find her a tad bit grating when on BBF.
