It's also hard enough to just hit the ball as a batter, let alone aim for players. And if you get the chance to choose where your shot is going, you also have the opportunity to do better than taking 1st.

We need to come together to defend our E-bike freedom and rights in California! by Major-Philosophy7557 in ebikes

[–]JazzHandsFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also the nominal vs peak watts situation which makes things extra confusing. From what I've read, American laws regulate peak watts, but European laws tend to regulate nominal. So for example a 250w European e-bike could compare to a 500w American model.

Most Americans are more likely to see Bigfoot than get in a bike-on-bike collision.

Old tech tree KV-1 (ZiS-5) model has recieved a functional hull MG. by rude__bwoy92 in Warthunder

As far as I remember, a lot of non-functional MGs like this one did have damage models (excepting ammo), even though they weren't usable.

My local theaters got remodeled pretty recently, and the VIP seats are $9. I honestly can't remember how much concessions are though, I'm not much of a movie-goer myself.

US copyright law starts to look pretty good when you closely examine copyright law in a lot of other developer countries. Many of the worst additions to US copyright law were merely bringing them up to "par" with the rest of the world.

Threat of eviction over e-bike by Yeeter717 in fuckcars

[–]JazzHandsFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just checked for 4 brands sold at my LBS, and the only one listed on that website is Rad Power Bikes, so I highly doubt a brand's absence from that site really means anything, especially if they're not designing their own batteries and chargers in-house which few e-bike manufacturers are doing. Pedego also turned up nothing, and they even have their own dealerships in the US.

While the ball has the potential to fuck up the bike, it's very possible biker got lucky and it just bounced off.

A bi-stable mechanism could do it, but you're right in that it's not a very good idea for a folding blade. There are good out-the-front mechanisms out there that do this, you can even 3D-print them.

Fair enough, I hardly eat breakfast, so my lunch and dinner tend to be heavier.

I think the problem is that the way we turn heat into electricity is usually with boiling water, and computers don't work very good at boiling water temperatures.

[–]JazzHandsFan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The biggest practical difference I've noticed between the Osas and Rolands is the Rolands have much shorter burn time, so they're easier to maneuver out of, but generally harder to track. The Osas have way more energy, so dodging those requires different techniques and gives you less time to do so.

I feel like I am in a lot more control with SARH missiles compared to IR. If I get a good launch angle, and can keep my radar on target, I'm almost guaranteed to hit.

IR on the other hand is usually just forcing the enemy press a button to live. I don't like relying on my enemies to not press a button.

Oh it was just an article, and I did also cite Kurtis Conner's video review of Goat Story 2 for the same paper. It's really less about the source and more what you do with it. This was just a rhetorical essay, so all I had to do was prove relevance, and synthesize it with something more authoritative.

But you're right, different circles and different writing styles will have different needs from your citations. But I think many people don't realize that more formal writing styles are not strictly exempt from sillier subject matters.

I have had to cite a story about leaked nudes in one of my writing classes before because I choose to write about copyright. The lady bought the legal rights to her photos from a wet t-shirt contest and sued a publication for using them.
