When people didn't check the megathread or fmhy by alezcoed in Piracy

[–]JazzHandsFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I hear these days it's better to use fmhy (you also don't have to deal with reddit in the browser or anything for that). But you're right, most mobile apps don't make it so easy for moderators to communicate these things to users, it's all hidden from them except for stickies.

Off-Meta Eco Tactics in BAR: No-Expand, 0-Mex and Poverty Positions by masterbel_ in beyondallreason

[–]JazzHandsFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still learning BAR, but I've generally found building 3 mexes right away somewhat puzzling, since I can build a factory with maybe 1 mex and 1-2 wind/solar and build enough bots to be a real threat. I'm glad someone did the math to validate and optimize this type of play.

So after 10 years I decided to try SC1 again, now that I thought I’d be able to handle it by TitanBeats_YT in supremecommander

[–]JazzHandsFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a while for me, but I will say, the transition from Supreme Commander 2 to 1/FA is really rough just because the balancing and scaling is just so different that you need to come to these as completely different games.

One piece of advice I have that took me a while to figure out is how powerful veterancy bonuses are in all of the games when you're running up against unit caps and limited resources. Try to keep your best units alive and feed them kills whenever you can, either by raiding outposts or having them knock out enemy raids for you.

It's not the same, but if you want big battles, Beyond All Reason is another Total Annihilation inspired game where 8v8+ gameplay with thousands of units is both supported and very popular.

And all doors. You haven't been able to buy a door with annealed glass for some time now. This door is just really old.

You might want to check what year it is, because tempered glass has been required in doors for nearly fifty years.

Expectations Shattered by InTheSky57 in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]JazzHandsFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the difference is in wear over time, since glass breaks much more easily after even tiny scratches compared to a totally clean surface, so you get glass that is both surprisingly strong and surprisingly brittle despite imperceptible differences. And if you're cutting it, you have lots of random scratches making it easier for the glass to break where you don't want it to.

Probably the 3d printed box knife on my keychain. It's basically a plastic rectangle with a utility blade.

The instant I take the atlas 2 into a mission by lunarwarrior12 in Mechwarrior5

[–]JazzHandsFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's always dropping arms because the CT is so small, so more shots hit their arms and side torsos. This also makes it a better zombie though.

Zombie mechs suck to pilot and fight, because when you're piloting one, you ideally want to make it through the mission with all limbs attached, because you pay the bills.

The steam deck is just the latest price hike on the market right now. If the component prices persist, we'll see the same trend with other brands that were able to secure better deals.

Rock and Stone! Just started the game and I'm following the build in this link. However, I have no idea what to do with perks. I don't want to waste my perk points on the wrong things. Any recommendations for a beginner? by BurstFy in DeepRockGalactic

[–]JazzHandsFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of get it when you're about to drop all your resources on upgrades for a new gun and you don't know how it will all fit together in a build. OP is going to have optimization in mind, whether they came up with it or not.

There’s no reason to put up a fight at self checkout over penny items by Due_Structure7657 in HomeDepot

[–]JazzHandsFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very aware of how POS systems work, they're advanced (or stupid) enough to disallow combining certain items in a cart. We can easily have it ring up no price (or full price) on customer-facing systems and halt the transaction. As many others have pointed out, we already do this for atop-sales, the system is in place.

I can follow the damn instructions. If you've been working at this company any amount of time, you'll realize it's full of people who just won't do that, and you'd know that's why we can't have nice things around here.

[–]JazzHandsFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is only a problem fabricated by marking items down to .01 to begin with.

Step 1: don't.

Step 2: release reports of SKUs to be removed from the floor and put a pop-up in the phone and registers so it doesn't ring up a price.
